There are 117 Stereoscopic 3D Movie titles on VUDU. Some are only for sale. Most also for rent. Some are films you can see in 2D elsewhere. On the TV VUDU app navigate to: Spotlight > Collections > 3D To see the list: https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/movieslist?FEATURE=3D or https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/uxrow/3D-Movies/1101 These films are likely all "frame-packed" format as though they ripped them directly from the 3D Blu-Ray disc files. So, you may have to run the VUDU APP on your 3D Blu-Ray player so that the player can decode the frame-packed streaming video. Streaming sticks like Roku, etc. don't currently handle frame-packed format apparently. This is the case with the LeTV 55” 3D Monitor. Last night we heard about multifaceted polymath George Mann & saw his historic 3D photographs taken around Los Angeles. David Starkman brought to share one of George’s rare customer designed tabletop 3D viewers. I thought you might like this video of me & David Curlender trying to fix one, showing clearly the “star wheel” mechanism that Starkman mentioned last night, the gizmo that holds slides still in place during transport. This is the same mechanism used in movie projectors. Records show that renowned inventor Bill Lear, also from Santa Monica and the inventor of the Lear Jet, helped George Mann design the mechanism. So, while watching it, think of Bill Lear and George Mann conjuring this invention in Bill Lear's machine shop in Santa Monica, California, during Cold War era optimism in the cradle of the burgeoning Aerospace industry just coming off it’s high of WWII and transitioning into peacetime activities and inventions, like 3D viewers for restaurant lobbies and waiting rooms everywhere. This is the same guy who became spokesman for a breakfast cereal in TV commercials in the 60s and was featured on the box cover wearing a crown of spoons, King Vita Man. Finally, a busy week at the 3D box office. 1) “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (2001,) playing as a Fathom Event for the first time in the US in 3D, February 13 & 20. Please note that "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” is also playing in 2D on the same dates. 2) “Captain America: Brave New World” opens February 14, 2025, with showing as early as February 13th. 3) “Ne Zha 2” Beijing Enlight Picture, opened in China on January 29, 2025, with a limited US release on February 14, 2025. It became the highest grossing Chinese and non-English film of all time (surpassing "The Battle at Lake Changjin").
