Save the Date - Tuesday, September 27, 2016 - 1:00-4:00 PM
Hi all -?
We are scheduling our fall meeting for Tuesday, September 27, here at our Downey offices. Our standard meeting will run 1:00-3:00 PM as before, but we've lined up a very?special author appearance directly following our meeting, from 3:00-4:00, that I don't think you'll want to miss (hence the late-September instead of early-October date). Stay tuned as I'll soon be posting another announcement regarding the author who's coming and give you all a chance to pre-register for that event.?
You should be receiving a message from Andres Ortiz soon with some questions about what we want this fall meeting to look like. I want to be sure that plenty of time is allowed for true networking, so please look for his post and respond when you can.?
Thanks,
Jennifer Ormsby

Fall 2016 LA-LMN Tentative Agenda
For the Fall LA-LMN meeting:
For the first half we were considering inviting a guest teacher to come and discuss starting Makerspaces on a budget.
For the second half of the meeting, we thought breaking into small discussion groups might be helpful. Based on the survey results, Collection Development, Digital Citizenship/Information Literacy, and Library Funding and Grants were the most popular topics around which we could discuss the following:
tips and tricks
current challenges/burning questions
best practices
resources (sharing)
Please respond to this post with your thoughts and ideas.
Please note, the fall meeting will be immediately followed by an author event, more details to follow.

Reply Requested-Spring LA-Library Media Network Meeting
#poll
A new poll has been created:
Hello LA-LMN,?
As we approach our winter breaks, I wanted to request your feedback as we plan our spring LA-Library Media Network gathering. We have a special opportunity to hold the meeting at the Museum of Tolerance (http://www.museumoftolerance.com) if we change it to one day earlier on Thursday, March 2, 2017 (instead of Friday, March 3). At this meeting, we will highlight a number of free resources and field trips that are available for your teachers and students. We can also extend the meeting to full-day in order to include a couple of the exhibits of this amazing facility. Complete this brief poll to let me know your feedback ASAP so arrangements may be made. Please check all that apply!
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
