At previous LA-LMN meetings, we have shared accessing two of the three CSL databases through a CalSNAP Open search, and also that we have a state-wide group-buy for BrainPOP for CalSNAP Premier members. In case you missed it, I wanted to invite you to the last in the CalSNAP Resource Series, which focuses on?“The BrainPOP Option.”?The workshop will be next Monday, November 5, 2018 from 1:00PM- 3:30PM.?We have a special guest presenter, Dr. Yvette Nishikawa, who will be leading the session—so we will be in expert hands!

Two other professional development opportunities for our members are below:
- An upcoming content partnership for CalSNAP is Centropa.org, where Jewish history has a name, a face, and a story. Their interviews, films, and teaching materials are unparalleled. They also host an 8-day summer academy on July 8-15, 2019 in Berlin where they will study 20th?century history, Holocaust,? Cold War, and Civil Society. There are?scholarships?for Los Angeles teachers, but to qualify, teachers must attend a one-day workshop on?November 3, 2018?from 8:30AM- 4:30PM in Santa Monica. Additional information and a registration link are on the attached flyer.
- HOLD THE DATE:?Our next event for the Social Justice Workshop Series will be at LA Plaza near Olvera Street on?February 1, 2019. Our theme will be “PROTEST” and will focus on Los Angeles and SoCal connections. More information is to come… and full scholarships are available for our members!
