rubber donuts

Howdy Great L23 Oracle of Knowledge

I had both my Lotus 23 rubber donuts come apart and bought some replacements from DBE. It was a good thing I had the axle savers, although they were also destroyed. I expected the new DBE donuts to look new with perfectly black rubber, but after unwrapping them (wrapped in newspaper) the surface looks off color and the metal temporary outer bands look like they were sand blasted. Is this normal?

Where do all you racers purchase standard size Lotus 23 donuts that can handle the abuse of racing?

Thanks for any suggestions, Don

I buy mine from Pegasus Auto Race. They do have a life . I try to check mine often.? Damaged donut savers are replacable. They have done their job by saving your chassis and other parts.

They seem to be better and cheaper than the original (or Pegasus / DBE ones).? The last time I bought them was from

You may need a washer or two to compensate for a slight difference in thickness.
