[www.Kresy-Siberia.org] Need KEW doc number for Pahlevi March - April 1942 - Indian Field Am

Thanks Joan that narrows down one I just need to be absolutely certain that I am citing the correct docs. I've sent an email to Januze and am hoping he will reply soon a he was the one who obtained these docs. Really need to be certain about the 'Pahlevi March - April 1942 - Indian Field Ambulance Report' that I am citing. I'm flattered that you'd like to read my essay, just so were clear this is only a term paper not a published thesis.

Chris,
On K-S March 23 (2013), Ewa D. of Nevada, USA quoted? "Deportation and Exile Poles in the Soviet Union, 1939-48" by Keith Sword. Her posting was?titled "Karamin".
?
She?quotes??Sword?chapter 3, p.67? "The first ship of the sea transport service Karamin left Krasnovodsk on 24 March and reached Pahlevi (present-day Bandar Anzali) on the following day."?? She?wrote that?Sword (p. 218 and 219)?gave his source as?
??? ?"PRO FO371 32630. "Report on Evacuation of Poles from Pahlevi, 25 March-25 April' by Lt-Col. A. Ross. (hereafter 'Ross report'), p.2. The report is dated 3 June 1942 and is one of three reports on the 1942 evacuations that Ross compiled. . . "
SVP let us know how we can get to read your essay once it's ready for general release. My husband, Aleksander Topolski, crossed thee Caspian Sea on the crowded deck of the oil tanker?Kaganovich. I gather it sailed August 31, 1942 and was the last Soviet ship to carry Polish soldiers and refugees to freedom in Pahlevi. Aleks describes his voyage in the last? pages of "Without Vodka" (2001).

The "Karamin" is a mistranslation of the russian word. The ship was actually called "Astrakhan". We have an ongoing project that is being worked on to name all the ships in the Ross report.

You can view the latest version of the project here:?
