Hi, I would certainly be interested in helping with this work and as a former archive clerk at a big bank here in Toronto
I do have considerable experience with this type of work and being semi-retired I certainly have lots of time for it!

Unfortunately I'm on a very limited income so travelling to London and staying there etc is basically impossible for me.

One thing they could do would be to get local volunteers to simply scan the documents into digital form
and then make these available to global volunteers who can read them and classify them correctly by keyword
and do the cataloguing online.

Incidentally, I was born in a Commonwealth state (ie Canada) prior to 1983 so apparently I'm allowed to live and work in Britain without a visa
so if I found a paying job there I could do the cataloguing in situ in my spare time:-
does anyone there need a dotty secretary-receptionist with a wicked sense of sly humor (can you say "irreverent"?)
who also speaks the "Queen's English" with a flawless near-Midwest accent
(for some reason everyone always thinks I'm from Chicago including people from Chicago!).

We have seven members thus far including myself who have expressed interest in this project proposal. We are still looking for more to establish a pool of volunteers that will give us numbers to work with and a firmer proposal to PISM. If you feel you can help out please let me know.
