Last night ITV2 showed the SS in Britain, about the 14th SS "Galizien"
division I'm still amazed that in spite of all the evidence presented the author M. Melnyk and the "others" are still denying and disputing the facts. There were German documents that showed the divisions whereabouts and they are adamant that those documents are wrong. I suggest that if others can watch it they do as it shows the Ukrainian Nationalist's mentality to insist that they are innocent of the crimes, they've even managed to persuade their children that they were the victims I have posed this question to M. Melnyk, If you state that you're Ukrainians fighting for a free Ukraine and despise the Poles and all that they stand for. Also you have never acknowledged the territory being Polish, why then upon your surrender to the British did you all pass yourselves as Polish citizens. .Paul,? Some of my relatives suffered at the hands of the Ukranians, so I too would be interested in hearing Mr. Melnyk's reply, please keep us posted. (if and when you hear from him). Elizabeth, Have a question for you as well, How did your mom end up in Germany? My folks were from the Kresy region and were taken by the Nazis, am interested in hearing from others who have a similar story.... thanks janie :-) |

Early 80's met a 30-year-old German on a Greek island. I sat for several hours listening to his version of WW2 (i.e. the 6 million odd people who perished in the gas chambers was a figment of everyone's imagination..) At the end of the monologue I quietly explained I didn't agree with him, nor did many historians..... The only thing that shut him up was when I told him my own mother had been in Dachau. When the film was originally shown over here I posed some questions to M. Melnyk via the journalist who assured me that they were passed on. That was about 3-4 months ago. Those questions had been specific and they did include my email address. To this day I haven't had a reply from M. Melnyk so when the film was re shown I re submitted my questions with a few additions. Looking back on the "reply" history I somehow doubt that I will receive one, but if by a miracle I do I'll keep you posted I have however received some other emails from Canada informing me that it's all lies and it never happened, and telling me to leave it alone Gets you thinking why?
