My name is Stefan Kloczko.
I am 40 years old and I was born here in Manchester, England.

My father (born 1912, near Suwalki) fought in the Defence of Warsaw and
subsequently spent five years in a POW camp in Germany.
My mother (born 1925, near Hermanowicze in Wilenszczyzna) was taken by the
Germans in 1943 to a forced labour camp in Germany.
Eventually, they made their way to England where they met, married and
started a family.

Other members of my family were also suffered during the war.
For example, my uncle narrowly survived Sachsenhausen concentration camp and
my wife's great-uncle was murdered at Katyn.

In Manchester, I am an active member of the Polish community - and I am a
committee member of the Polish Ex-Servicemen's Association.

My reason for being interested in the Kresy-Siberia Group is that I have
always been keen to learn as much as possible about my Fatherland's history.
