The one I am interested in is the Duchess of Bedford and as you say no lists. Would be great to confirm it was the ship in which my Father arrived in England.

I have deep rooted feelings about the many atrocities committed by USSR/Russia, Germany and the actions of Great Britain and America. But I would put them aside for a while to obtain information to help our people have closures and to reunite with their families even though I personally know where all my family resides and how my path in life was constructed.

I lost family members, they and I suffered a great deal. But at this stage I feel it is important to help those who are still suffering not knowing if any family survived or why they are journeying this path in their life.

Working from that point of view we might be able to help many more then trying to open wounds as the primary goal.

At the sometime I respect others points of view and will work with all to help.

We have the full right to query anybody for information about our families, and to know what has happened to them regardless of the feelings or interests of others.?I had something different in mind.?The classical example of ?not only the lack of political will but even directed actions to block information about what have happened to the victims is investigation and media information about Polish airplane catastrophy in Smoleńsk in 2010. Even today we do not know for sure who is burried where. Another example is massacre wolynska, where polish authorities avoided the subject for years (2000-2008). Russian genocide in 1937-38, where 110 000 Poles where murdered and scores imprisoned, stripped of posessions, persecuted for the rest of their lives came up to the public attention in recent years. Yet, many of them years later got some information about their family members from the authorities. Mostly false, without indication where they were burried.

There are still remnants of Polish organizations in Russia, where we can find some help. I know one lady in Orenburg (Kazakhstan). She told me that there is some ?interest ?growing?in preserving the history of the region. Some Poles visited the places and met people, who remembered them from 1940-ties. There was a meeting organized with ?local people and authorities. Here is the story

Although some of my family members were deported to Kazakhstan (1940-1946), they all came back to homeland in Vilnius region, then relocated to Poland.
