Welcome Krystyna Szypowska
Stefan Wisniowski
Please welcome Krystyna Szypowska to the group.
Krystyna, I was born in Montreal too, but beat a retreat from winters to sunny Australia! I hope you find the group as valuable as nearly 400 others so far... and growing every week! Please tell us more about your mother's home in Poland. Regards Stefan Wisniowski ---------- From: Krystyna <krystyna@...> Date: Sun, 07 Dec 2003 12:56:23 -0500 Hello, I certainly do not mind sharing the reason for my interest in your group : My mother's family (surname: Siomkajlo) were taken from their home during the night of Feb.10th, 1940 and they ended up in Kazakhstan where her mother, father and sister died. A brother and sister-in-law and their daughter later died in Teheran, Persia. The surviving 4 sisters (who had slaved in the gold mines in Kazakhstan) found their way to a camp in east Africa, and eventually ended up in England. I live in Montreal (Canada) - I was born here, a few short months after my parents arrived here from England. I am trying to learn as much as I can about the part of Poland (now Ukraine) where my mother's family came from, and about their forced exile in the USSR, and would appreciate becoming a member of your group. Thank you, Krystyna Szypowska Montreal, Canada |

Thank you for sharing this information. There is so much information all over the world but all in different places. To bad that a central point can't be established that all the information is brought together, translated into two or three or four main languages and be made available to all free of charge on the internet. Projects like this I would be willing to financially support to the best of my ability. I would also support it with my time and research. We are doing a great job at this site giving a voice to most of us and assembling and directing information. At some point I hope that we can get a grant to extend our services and compile and organize all of the resources that we have come across. Thank you again for sharing and translating this information. I hope that you will continue to translate additional information as you have time. Julek -----Original Message-----
