The Beginning
Kaer Kon, where all stories come from and return to. Over the next few weeks will post some of the 'background' stories, before the actual story, as the actual story goes all over time. A few rules about how this works: In this universe, every story ever told is vying for a place in reality. Time does not operate here, as it does in all the 'mortal' lands where the stories take place. The 'Bards' are the storytellers that live and dwell in this (the 'real' reality) reality, while most noteworthy actions they do takes place in this suspended reality. Any person can be a Bard if they add to the story, or a companion of a Bard, which is the same thing save they person does not realize they are a Bard yet! To be a Bard one must tell stories, they can be made up, but then they would become 'real' as everything ever dreamed up exists in Kear Kon, someplace or other. All persons can, at least for now, post any story they want, as every story ever told or dreamed up exists here, just create a topic and post it. We can use any person's ideas if they are posted, in our own stories, but please do not be vulgar, or plagiarize, be original, or at least be creative and never forget to link to anyone else's story if you do use any parts of it. The idea is to build a universe that works across a broad spectrum of viewpoints. The Veilstone is the means by which the Bards are gathered, trained, sent out to the worlds. Most of them in dream live entire lifetimes, and upon death wake up in their originating 'realm'. The whole story the Bard of Asher (that's me!) tells starts with the voyage of the Aurora, a space station turned into escape destruction life pod as the world that gave birth to it is destroyed by greed. Over eons, as it travels through space, it becomes a small planet like a sphere, with its own artificial moon, and a light source from its engine a subluminal warp core that is sentient and can traverse to anyplace at any time, or brings the user to that spot, it is hard to tell. It is a sphere orb that floats and changes size from tiny to great depending on factors that are beyond the author's ability to relate. Eventually the Aurora is crashed into a planet that becomes a home to every imaginable creature. It has two beings that compete for domination, Chrysthylyx, and Tawraith, who tend to take on Dragon shapes by preference...both are shape changers and may even be the same person. Lots of plot twists with those two. Both like to play games with people, can be obnoxious, cruel, silly, humorous, kind, depending on who they are interacting with. TaWraith tends to be more serious, Chrys tends towards kindness and humor, but either is capable of pretty much the same thing, done differently. Both are aloof and have their own agendas, and they fight over the V.Stone constantly, while neither can actually control the stone or even hope to control it, they are the next in line powerwise to the stone itself. Most creatures have no idea any of these exist and are fed many forms of religious and not religious dogma by either the two 'dragons'. There is the planet they 'crashed on' (intentionally) and the sudden appearance of the two players, the dragons Chrysthylyx and TaWraith. This planet is called Ashur and has a realm called Asher, which is where Kaer Kon has its physical manifestation, although no planet could actually contain it, it being a place that is connected via something like quantum entanglement to everything 'real'. There is an Inn at a crossroads called the four worlds Inn, but it connects to an infinite unumbered amount of realms, because the Stone made an image of itself there, and used it as a sort of lynchpin to connect all other realms to it, but at a distance from the actual entrance of Kaer Kon, to discourage ordinary beings from trying to reach the actual stone, for the simple, merciful, fact it would kill them. This planet and this universe is an allegoric exercise, for educational and academic pursuits.
