Tuning not kicking on when tx

 

Okay, I have been using the signalink with digi modes on my pi4 but now have the digirig. What would make my tuner not kick on when tx with the digirig?

The signalink uses VOX to key the radio. The digirig uses CAT control. You will need to update your rig control settings.

I did. I had switched it from vox to CAT and flrig does control the radio now, but the tuner does not kick in. I switch back to signalink and the tuner kicks in. I've tried switching out using digirigs serial CAT control cable and using the ftdi cable and it still doesnt kick in. I'm at a loss as to why. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.? I'm using an 897D
 

I loaded 73 Linux on a laptop and I have a similar problem, I’m not getting any sound on my radio waterfall indicating that my Digirig is putting out a signal. I am doing 2meter packet, and there is no cat control in Flrig for my particular radio. It seems to be on HF radios listed in Frig. The Flrig VOX setting was a major part of Jason’s setup videos for 73 Linux, and seems only to work if your radio is listed in Flrig.
 

Which radio are you using? Someone else may have the rig and can jump in with suggestions.

Have the correct speaker and mic set??
 

It would help to know what operating system you are using - Windows or Linux, and what ham radio software application you are using as well.? I would start like the one gentleman said and check your sound control settings in Windows or Alsamixer in Linux / Debian.?

With the Signal link you adjust everything via the knobs on it.? With the Digirig it is all software control.?

You mention tuner, I think you meant transmitter.? Does the radio key for transmission?? If so your PTT circuit is good if not you need to work on that.?

FLrig does a good job.? Maybe find out if you can use another radio setting if your's isn't listed in the setup.? WSJT-X uses Hamlib behind the scenes if your radio is listed.? If not you can use FLrig by selecting Flrig Flrig in the radio selection.

As I understand it, the digirig has specific internal jumper settings and uses a specific cable of the 897. It may not be your computer that is the culprit.?

Yaesu FTM-500D. I spoke to Digirig and I just posted a message to this forum with specifics on my issue (/g/KM4ACK-Pi/topic/in_73_linux_how_do_i/111688387) I'm lost.
