Setting up PTT with RTS using a serial to USB adaptor
Hi guys,
Just got a pi4 and started following Jasson's pi build. I think I missed his latest videos which sounds like he has automated the process. I think I did it "last year's" way. I've got a Kenwood TS-140s that doesn't have rig control, so I'm using RTS to trigger the PTT with a USB to serial adaptor. Works great for FLDIGI and JS8CALL. In those I can just select /dev/ttyUSB0 in the config menus of the software and check RTS and it works like a champ. I still haven't figured out how to activate it in ARDOP though. I installed the new PAT MENU of Jasson's and tried to enter some commands in the rig control menu. I tried entering them directly in PAT Configure in the command line. I'm not sure if I'm entering the wrong command, or entering the right command in the wrong place. When I attempt a connection with ARDOP I get an error that says it doesn't like the RIG PTT ' ' . ?I go into PAT configuration and change where it says RIG under ARDOP and whatever I change it to the error says it doesn't like it.? Thanks for taking the time to read this. John N7BHP |

John,
Do yourself a favor, and get the latest version of Build a Pie (BAP). The old way doesn't allow you to run it multiple times to update software as needed, 3.0.2 does, and 3.0.3 is just a few days away. Jason has really done the Amateur Radio/RaspberryPi community a great service here. -- 73 de N5RKE |
