I don’t seem to be getting any input audio when I am running js8call and wsjtx or FLDigi. I’ve adjusted the volume control all the way up for input device (my external soundcard) but I get no reading on the waterfalls or any decoded info. Is there a way to increase the volume elsewhere? Output is fine. I see my results on PSK reporter map.....the volume level showing on js8call is yellow and less than 20 and less than 10 on wsjt-x.
any suggested solutions?

Did you install pulse audio? You could also try alsamixer. Which sound card are you using?

Yes, I installed pulse audio....I've checked alsamixer and volume is at 100. I have the Ugreen USB soundcard. Never had a problem with it on my Windows computer . Do you think I need a different soundcard?

I haven't used that sound card but use a similar one. Did you look at both the internal sound card & the USB card in alsa? If so, try adjusting the audio level in pulse audio as well. I doubt the card itself is the issue.

Thanks I found it. Another problem, my pi doesn’t always see my soundcard. I try rebooting over and over and maybe 1 out of 20 it might see it.
