New Buster Sound Card Debacle

If you blacklist the internal card, The USB will get card 1. At least my Signalink did on multiple reboots.

I can't get my Sabrent USB to even load, if someone can help me with that problem it would be great. Works on previous Buster.

Hey Dwayne

I don't blacklist the internal card. Occasionally with apps like Pi-APRS we use the internal card for sound alerts. JS8Call can also use the internal card for alert sounds. Try removing the blacklist and see if the sabrent will load.

No it will not, wasn't working out of the gate after the new Buster and B-A-P V3.

That won't make the card show up on boot?
Card is not being loaded at all.

So if you plug in the USB sound card and run 'arecord -l', you get no results? (note: that is a lower case L at the end of the command)

That is correct. I should have a different brand coming on Thursday and we will see what that does. If that doesn't work I'll throw up my hands and buy another Signalink because I'm anal enough to want each station to stand on its own merits without having to swap stuff around. I also have built a vox circuit to use with my older 2m rig so I really want the cheapo soundcard to work.

Sounds like you might have a bad/damaged USB sound card. All of the drivers needed come stock in Buster.

Bad sound card! Different cheapo card is working. Let's see if I can kill this one. :(
