HAMRS

Greetings,?
I had HAMRS app installed prior to doing the Build A Pi upgrade to 3.0.8, it worked prior.
Now when I go to the Raspberry icon to select the HAMRS app in Hamradio menu, I keep getting the following error.

"Invalid desktop entry file:'/usr/share/applications/hamrs.desktop'

Not sure how to get it to show there, or make it work, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

73 De VA7RYL, ? Bob. ?

Bob,
Look at my post of #4743 and related posts. It may help.

Hi Jason,

Ran the command, & this is the results:

"cat: /usr/share/applications/hamrs.desktop: No such file or directory"

Let's make sure hamrs is installed and will start. From the command line run:

hamrs

Good morning Jason,

Running the command line "hamrs" it tells me: "bash: hamrs: command not found"

Ok, I have tried using the BAP update tool to install Hamrs, but it always give me same result of?"cat: /usr/share/applications/hamrs.desktop: No such file or directory"

After using the BAP update tool, I get another file added to my downloads directory, "hamrs-0.11.2-linux-armv7I.AppImage, ?these show up in sequence, & keep piling up there.

Thanks,

Bob. VA7RYL

You may have found a bug but let's do a bit of troubleshooting. Open your downloads directory and delete all instances of hamrs. Then run the BAP update tool again and see if that will install after you delete the other files. I'll do some double checking on my side to see what might have gone wrong.

After a bit of testing I can confirm it is indeed a bug that will occur if you have multiple instances of hamrs in the downloads directory. Deleting all of them and telling BAP to install hamrs resolved the issue on my test box.
