I'm running an Evolve with Linux Mint and gone through all the install that Jason has on YouTube and all works well except VARA for Winlink. When I start the VARA modem I get the message "Listener varahf failed: vara initialization failed: couldn't connect to VARA command port: dial tcp 127.0.0.1:8300: connect: connection refused" I have done research and looked through my system put can't find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Double check that the data port set in VARA matches the port set in the Pat Config file.

I guess I’m missing something. I’ve tried different port numbers but I guess I can’t figure out where the port number is in pat config. Appreciate and help.?

The port numbers for VARAHF as well as other protocols are in the ~/.config/pat/config.json? file. ?The port number are in the respective protocol sections.? Pay careful attention to the file format and punctuation as it is critical.? There should be VARA HF and FM sections.
