K4IRV All Messages By This Member #13319 I recently setup a new Evlove III laptop with Mint, loaded 73 Linux.? I configured Yaac and my mobilinkd tnc 3 with a Yaesu FT70. ? It worked great, was able to transmit/Recieve packets.? ?About a week later I decided to try and setup digirig with FT-817 to use for FT-8.? No joy, could receive but no transmit....gave up and went back to yaac and mobilinkd.....when i do the terminal part, i get the above error ? I'm really just appliance operator and have not been able to get it back running..... ? Would appreciate any help to get aprs back up and running again.? ? thanks in advance? ?73 ? frankie ? ?
Jeremy Pierce All Messages By This Member #13320 Sir, I'm guessing that if you are using Linux 73 that you need to go into command prompt and type alsamixer. Check your audio card settings with F6 then F5.? You are probably using a USB sound card unless they finally fixed the internal sound card drivers for the Evolve.? I'll bet your output setting is too low.? You can always check your transmission by going to pskreport.com and go to the maps.? Type in your call sign and transmit only, the band and FT8.? It'll show a map of all the operators that heard you so you can see if you are getting out.? Hope this helps. I think when i was setting up for FT8 with the? laptop and digirig, I messed up something with laptop setting that is causing the above error when trying to connect the laptop with the mobilinkd tnc for aprs.. ? Jeremy Pierce All Messages By This Member #13323 I haven't messed with YAAC or Direwolf in a hot minute.? I need to dive back into them again.? Check out this program for APRS ops:? I feel it is the best I've utilized.? I run it via a DIY built Moblilink bought back when the commercial product wasn't available.? I actually use it more often the my Version 3. Run it out a Beofeng and small mag dual band antenna outside.? Works awesome!
