Build a Pi 3.0.3 Released
There is an issue with WSJT-x ver 2.2.2 running WSPR in band hopping mode. It crashes! It also does it on my Laptop running the same version. I had an older version on another pi as well as an older version on my laptop and they both work fine.?
My problem is that I can't find an older version for the Pi. ver 2.2.1 which works ok on both machines. When I search for add/remove programs on the pi, it only comes up with the latest 2.2.2.? Any suggestions? Thanks! -Mike |
Hi, Mike!
Get armhf version from here: Then open a console (terminal window) in directory where is v.2.2.1 and install it via this command: sudo apt install ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb It will overwrite v.2.2.2 with the old version. If it is successful, then it's good to mark v.2.2.1 not to be updated via scripts, etc: sudo apt-mark hold wsjtx If later there is a new version with the corrected bug then unmark the package: sudo apt-mark unhold wsjtx 73! P.S.
You can also download v.2.2.1 for your laptop from the link I sent in previous email. Just pick the right package for your laptop's OS. On August 24, 2020 8:23:23 PM UTC, Dafcho Tabakov <lz1daf@...> wrote: Hi, Mike! 73! Daff, LZ1DAF |
Hi Daff,
EDIT: I was able to install it from file manager (just like windows) by right clicking on the file and opening file and was then asked if I wanted to install it! Worked and my problem?seems to be resolved with the 2.2.1 version as I suspected! Then used the hold command and that said it worked also... ?Thanks for the quick reply! I got the file wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb? into the download area and navigated there in terminal and executed the command sudo apt install ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb
and got the following: pi@raspberrypi:~/Downloads $ sudo apt install ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb
Reading package lists... Done
E: Unsupported file ./wsjtx_2.2.1_armhf.deb given on commandline
pi@raspberrypi:~/Downloads $?
?
So I am not sure what to do here...I am a complete noob on this command line stuff. Appreciate your help. -Mike ? |

Just an FYI:?Jason's entire suite (full install) performs perfectly for me even on a plain Raspi3, it does not need to be the 'B+' version. I am able to even run WSJT-X and GridTrack simultaneously, which was not possible with the older GridTracker release. CPU temp hovers near 60-C, with no apparent problems for more than 2-weeks of 24/7 operation. 73 de Jerry - LU/K4OAM On Thu, Aug 27, 2020 at 8:11 AM km4ack <jason.oleham@...> wrote: On Wed, Aug 26, 2020 at 06:26 PM, Jonathan Scherch wrote: |

I might be running the first BAP3 version - can I run BAP from the main menu as described for the 3.0.3 upgrade, or do I have to start over.? When I select BAP from the Preferences menu, I get an Error "Failed to execute child process 'xterm' (no such file or directory)" ?See this post -- 73, de KM4ACK
