Very New to Pi etc - FT-891 no xmit with wsjtx using flrig
Goal - Use Pi4 in field (POTA) with dig modes (wsjtx for now)
Installed BAP and patches except Test Patch ( dont know what that is)
Also new to flrig etc. but its installed and init works with ft891 - will key it up freq changes etc
used flrig/flrig with wsjtx (familiar with wsjtx on base ic7300 on pc)
wsjtx 2.4.0 - no erros and acts like it working - can change freq etc, enable acts like its sending but rig is not keyed up
sabrent sound configured - no apparent issues, ublox gps no apperent issues (but sometimes need to unplug/plug back but also inside for now)
using 5w to dummy load for now - just cant figure out why wsjtx not actually trying to xmit
suggestions ? (explicit commands needed - not a unix guru) - yes I have flrig running before wsjtx starts

Yeah. I tried reinstalling the forms and nope. We’ll have to wait until the developers fix the issue.

It wouldn't be terribly hard to make one out of a consumer BT adapter that uses a headphone/microphone jack (TRRS) by cutting off the jack and soldering in some wires to a mini din. You would have to use CAT control or VOX for PTT.?
That being said, I would be a little concerned a bit with the audio delay inherent in a lot of those devices. It might muck up the timing of some digital signals where timing is critical.?
As far as I know, one for Bluetooth audio doesn't exist for teh 817. I would be stoked if someone proved me wrong :-)

Jim, if you are getting your GPS coordinates correctly then go to the “time.is” website and it will tell you if your system clock is accurate. ?Assuming you have a working internet connection of course.

Pat Templates 163 - Stuck in reboot
Hello everyone,
So I updated the templates in Pat this morning in order to update the Severe Wx Template to get working. After the update I didn’t see the template I Pat, so for giggles I decided to reboot my Pi4 (8GB). After not being able to connect to it via VNC after I thought plenty of time a lapsed, the VNC connection would time out. This happened several times. So I connected the Pi to my HDMI TV and it goes through its thing, but stops at the rainbow screen. It’s been sitting there for a long long long while.
I’m wondering if the new Pat template update did something to my Pi since it has been working for weeks now with zero issues. I only go in to use Pat every few days and I disconnect from it. This update was the only thing I’ve updated ?since BAP 3.1.0 came out.?
OR is this just a coincidence in timing???
Any ideas???

I have Build a Pi running on a Pi4. I have a GPS receiver taped to a basement window and Conky is displaying my gridsquare.
?
Is there anything else I need to do for FT8 timing? I assume that if gridsquare is showing in Conky, the pi is getting it’s time from the GPS receiver.
?

By running: ls /dev/serial/by-id/you will find there are two listings for the 705 which are something similar to: usb-Icom_Inc._IC-705_IC-705_12007996-if00 usb-Icom_Inc._IC-705_IC-705_12007996-if02 The one that ends in "if00" is the one that should be used in FLRIG and the one that ends in "if02" should be used for the GPS connection. This will avoid the conflict. First use the GPS update tool and set the GPS to the one ending in "if02" and then configure FLRIG to use the other one and you should be good. --

I'm using the 2.0 ports due to the issue with the 3.0 I'm guessing the same thing I'll get another ordered and see if that changes anything? thank you for all the help?

Since you says that you have never seen the blinking green light even when outside, there is certainly an issue with the GPS. Are you using a USB 3 device in one of the USB 3 ports on the Pi? This is know to create enough RFI to jam the GPS If you aren't using USB 3 and still can't get a lock while outside, it's possible that you have a defective GPS unit. --

Tested pat winlink this morning again and get a time out io error on black screen of pat mail screen I think a setting ??
All was working fine yesterday. I did a reboot too, but it stay same Freq written in blick and then red line through it. Qso error

I solved the issue by re-installing Hamlib and now Fldigi, WSJT-x, JS8CALL and Pat applications all work using Flrig. I am assuming that something had gotten set wrong in the Hamlib config files and that a re-install corrected it Thanks, George AK4NG
