Re: Another BAP issue

You may have deleted your BAP directory. You can reinstall BAP with the following commands:
cd
git clone https://github.com/km4ack/pi-build.git

Re: Need help with BAP

If you have 3.0.8 installed there should be a shortcut in the menu under the ham radio section. If it isn't there, you can run the BAP update script from the command line with
~/pi-build/update

Widget to turn Rig On/Off (like FLrig) #ic-7300

FLrig can be set to automatically turn the rig on and off (found in the FLrig extra controls under the Misc tab). It's a useful feature, but sometimes the apps I use don't utilize FLrig so there's no way to turn the rig on or off remotely before running the non-flrig-dependent app.

Is there a way, a simple app or widget, that does nothing more than turn the radio on, and another that does nothing more than turn the radio off? Simply running the app would allow me to power up the radio, run an app that doesn't require FLrig, and then power of the radio.

#ardop rpoblem with configuration #ardop

Hello to the forum,

I went the next steps in the configuration (after Flrig, JS8Call and WSJTX setup) to PAT. Made the configuration (incl. Port change to 5050) but in the terminal window I got the following errors. It looks like that the system can't find the sound card. In WSJTX I use (only tested receiving):

alsa_input.usb-GeneralPlus_USB_Audio_Device-00.analog-mono
alsa_output.usb-GeneralPlus_USB_Audio_Device-00.analog-stereo

Need help with BAP

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

About 3 months ago I installed (I thought it was) BAP and it had a GUI to select what apps to install....

1.? I cannot find it on my PI to run it again (no icons in the click down main menu).

2. I can not find it on KM4ACK's git hub site to reinstall it???

I'm not a rocket scientist when it comes to PI's...? Any help would be great.

FYI I have ver. 3.0.8 of BAP

Re: After run BAP flrig is not installed #flrig

Edited

Hi alex,

thanks ... I have a PI image from March and after put the image on the SD i made the usual updates on the system, so it should be the actual kernel. I installed the BAP from:??with the comand I did in the past:?

git clone https://github.com/km4ack/pi-build.git \
$HOME/pi-build && bash $HOME/pi-build/build-a-pi
so it should be the BAP 3.0.8

I start a fresh installation cause its faster to find out if the same process results in the same problem. I report the results on thsi.

Edit: I did a fresh insrtalaltion with the newest Raspberry Pi image (2021-05-07-raspios-buster-armhf) and started BAP afterwards. Installation now was successful. Thanks to Jasons's work it was fast and smooth. Some interesting things:
+ Flrig is now installed but not in the Flsuite menu
+ ArdopGUI, Flrig, JS8utils and PAT menu are also in the Internet menu tab
+ GPS Update tool and XGPS are only in the menu accessories
How can I change this?

Fldigi problems with ic-7610

I did a new Build-a-Pi and the N3DJS build.
It worked immediately on fldigi, flrig, wsjtx. But the Build-a-Pi didn't work at all.
I read about 7610 problems with flrig on the fldigi site.

I'm going to compare the settings to see what's wrong.?
Any ideas?

Teensy tnc-pi9k6 use

I got sidetracked on packet and tinkered with Winlink & vara with the PC.
Cleaning shack I found my teensy pi tnc board.
Question. Can I EASILY use it on my build-a-pi?

Otherwise I'll find a use for the handy teensy.

Re: After run BAP flrig is not installed #flrig

Hi,

after long time I have to be busy in my job I started a fresh installation on my RP4 with BAP - thanks Jason for this great possibility. All runs smooth but Flrig wasn¡®t installed. Tried the update tool but it runs through the script but with no result. Terminal window shows that the installation script is running. Can¡®t find answers on this topic and how to check what was going wrong.?

Are you running the latest version of BAP? There was some issues with the FLSUITE in 3.0.7 that were documented here

Hi Erwin,

Not sure what is happening in your situation, but during the last two days I have done about 6 times a fresh install of Build-a-Pi 3.0.8 without any issues on a Raspberry Pi 4 (4Gb). I used the latest Raspberry Pi OS: 2021-05-07-raspios-buster-armhf.

(The fresh installed were because I was trying to do all kind of crazy stuff, not due to issues with build-a-pi).

If you haven¡¯t tried it yet, I would just try another full fresh install.

(Just to be sure. Flrig is under ¡®Amateurradio, flsuite¡¯ menu option)

Hope you get it working soon.

Best regards,
Alex

This pi does have patch on it

FT-891 Settings

Please send me your FT-891 settings. I am trying to figure out why my Pi's don't work as they should.

As a starter, to help me diagnose my problem, I need your FT-891 settings (i.e.those settings that you have changed from factory settings)?

My hardware setup includes:
1. Signalink
2. USB cable between Pi? & the FT-891
3. Pi 3B or a Pi 3B+
4. FT-891 (Later, I will also use a FT-818)
5. KB, Mouse, Monitor (I will go headless later, using my Chromebook)

My primary interest at the moment is getting WSJT-X FT8 going for POTA portable operation. I have loaded BaPi on both versions of the Pi. Separately, I have loaded WSJT 2.4 and hamlib 4.2 independantly on to the Raspberry OS. This works mostly except power level. BaPi versions won't transmit.

A while back, maybe a couple of years, I had the Pi's going with WSJT/Hamlib.... thoroughly documented. This no longer works with the advent of WSJT 2.4 and Hamlib 2.4. PS: I have been using FT8 every since it came out, mostly in my base station FT-991......still working to this day.

Eventually, I'll get around to using other features of the BaPi system.

Thanks,

Ken KB4XT

Re: JS8Call Audio frustration

Problem Solved (as far as I can tell)

I run JS8Call in SSB mode instead of Digital mode so I needed to change menu #106 "SSB Mic Select" to "REAR". ?? For some reason I think win7 was letting me get away with leaving #106 set to "Mic".

...and for some reason the front mic is still working fine in SSB

Re: JS8Call Audio frustration

&*%@^...? I just tried to edit my last post but managed to delete it some how

(try #2)
I changed the mode "Settings>Radio>Rig Options>Mode" to Data/Pkt per Benjamin's suggestion and I get audio going to the radio (got a reply to an HB).? BUT... when the radio goes into Data USB mode I get an ugly splatter on the waterfall. Nothing is being transmitted but the radio is sending a nasty tone to JS8Call.

Still some bugs to sort out but at least it's progress. Thanks for the help!

P.S.? I do have #142 VOX set to DATA
