Re: IC 705 gpsd and FLRIG conflict.
By running: ls /dev/serial/by-id/ you will find there are two listings for the 705 which are something similar to: usb-Icom_Inc._IC-705_IC-705_12007996-if00 usb-Icom_Inc._IC-705_IC-705_12007996-if02 The one that ends in "if00" is the one that should be used in FLRIG and the one that ends in "if02" should be used for the GPS connection. This will avoid the conflict. First use the GPS update tool and set the GPS to the one ending in "if02" and then configure FLRIG to use the other one and you should be good. -- 73, de KM4ACK

Jerry, I received your email but it has been a couple of crazy days for me. I'll review the fix you submitted and see if I can get a new patch out in the next few days. -- 73, de KM4ACK

Re: IC 705 gpsd and FLRIG conflict.
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Paul, I've been out on a ham exercise all day and am exhausted.? I will
try tomorrow to see what I am doing that is different than you.?
For the moment, I can tell you the single USB cable connection is
running all three with my Pi(s); rig control, sound codecs, and
GPS all without any problems.? I guess I just lucked into it
because all I've done is follow the BAP instructions for this
marriage made in heaven, the IC-705 to the Raspberry Pi 3B+ and 4B
running headless with PC, tablet and phone control.? At the very
least I want you to know that it is being done.? Later! 73 Herm, W7HRM On 9/11/2021 6:46 AM, Paul via

Don't know what to tell you Bill, but it's working fine here under the latest Buster and Build-A-Pi 3.1.0 Jerry On Sat, Sep 11, 2021 at 10:44 PM Bill Harding via <n3vmt=[email protected]> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI have same problem here.?Only difference in setting is mine use 5000 instead of 8080 What i also noted is that rigcontrol in conkey does not go green -? In older version it used to go green but did not go red after closing down of pat winlink. Then i had to reboot pi otherwise other apps dont work as stand alone without flrig Wsjt-x was not working but after installing the patch i cganged settings to another radio and then changed it back to correct radio and now it is working with new patch. Thanks for that solution Jason.? Greetings from the Namib Pieter Jacobs De v51pj 73 On 12 Sep 2021, at 00:38, ham123789 <ribet@...> wrote:

You could try to turn it on manually from the raspi-config menu using the command sudo raspi-config I know you can setup your wifi options in that menu. Can you see the wifi icon on your desktop? Re: FLAMP install not working from Build-a-Pi

I found a workaround, and have submitted it to Jason for his consideration. Below is that suggestion: Hi Jason - Continued with the past problem in that FLAMP always indicated 'NEED UPDATE', but never updated from 2.2.05 to 2.2.07. A fix for this involved adding "| tail -1)" to the end of the AMPTAR=$ line in the FLAMP section of the 'flsuite.funtion' script. The update went smoothly, and now, with 2.2.07 installed, the FLAMP NEEDS UPDATE message has disappeared. Is this a valid 'fix'? 73 de Jerry - LU/K4OAM On Sat, Sep 11, 2021 at 10:58 AM Michael Fury, KV4ZZ <fury.michael@...> wrote: Updated to the new 3.1.0 and applied the FLMSG patch successfully. BAP 3.1 Patch screen multiple patches
I started to play around with the new patch feature with BAP 3.1
I did find that if you selected multiple patches, it only installs the first patch. The other patches are not installed, so I had to install them one at a time. No big deal on doing the patches one at a time (at least for me), but I did expect to install multiple patches when I am able to select multiple patches. But the patch update works like a champ. |
Hotspot
I'm trying to install build-a-pi on my raspberry pi 4 8gb, install the program go thru the setup script after the reboot i can not connect to internet.

Re: Dire Wolf Problem "Could not open audio device plughw:2,0 for input
#antenna
I just ran command "arecord -l" and it didn't list anything. Then it hit me to plug a device in, so I grabbed a pair of USB headsets and re-ran that command and now it shows it. I'm building this Pi on the desk and I don't have the radio ready and plugged in. I have to figure out how I want to interface the Alinco DR-135 Mk II.?

Re: How to Resume a Failed Install
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Steve Check the pi for what you wanted to install to make sure all finished. I saw where mine finished but Fldigi wasn't and maybe some others didn't install. Just to be sure. Marty

Re: How to Resume a Failed Install
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Steve I think with the Pi3 you have run into the run out of swap space
issue. On Pi's with both 3 and 4 with 4GB or less or maybe it is less than 4GB of RAM you will see this behavior when installing Fldigi and maybe some other memory intensive compiles. A search for increasing swap space on Rpi will get the way to increase swap space on your pi to allow it to complete the BAP install. Hope this helps and sorry I don't have the procedure to copy to just send you.

Updated to the new 3.1.0 and applied the FLMSG patch successfully. I was hoping that it would fix whatever was wrong with the error when triyng to update FLMSG also. This is the output I get in the terminal after trying to update:

Re: Dire Wolf Problem "Could not open audio device plughw:2,0 for input
#antenna
Run this command:
arecord -l and it should return something like this **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 2: CODEC [USB Audio CODEC], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] ? Subdevices: 0/1 ? Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 In the example above the card is 2 and device 0 hence plughw:2,0. If your card is different, you will need to modify your direwolf.conf file to match the output of the output above. If you need to make a change the direwolf.conf file will be in your home directory and can be modified with a text editor. On line ~77 you should see "ADEVICE? plughw:2,0" Change the last two numbers on this line to match your card/device number. -- 73, de KM4ACK

I did not mean to add that #antenna and I can't see a way to delete it. Perhaps a Mod can pull that off.
