If the frequency is busy, check 5 Khz below or above as we may have moved there ?
Get on the air and see who you can hear!? A good way for Technicians to participate on HF as they are allowed a small slice of 10M.
Edit: Moved time to 4pm (0000 UTC) so we are not in the last hour of various contests through the year. |
Mountain Topper MTR4b v2.3 - For Sale
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý
Hey all -
I have an LNR MTR4b v2.3 in excellent condition for sale (see attached images). ?It operates flawlessly with very few hours on it.? This unit is from the last batch that was sold last year so has the most up-to-date hardware revisions and firmware.?
These are no longer in production as of last year, and there is no telling if LnR will release these again.? This transceiver covers 80m/40m/30m/20m, weighs less than 8 ounces, and has a very quiet noise floor.? This is one of the more popular and well-respected
QRP CW radios on the market.? From the ¡°official¡± product listing:
?
Some technical specifications:
?
?
The manual can be downloaded from
and the product page with other details can be viewed at
?
Included with this sale are the transceiver with a BNC dust cover.? You will need to provide a 5.5mm with 2.5mm pin power cable; remember that this radio is rated for between 5.5V and 13V, so powering it from a Talentcell or a PD 12V cable (or a 9V battery)
would work.
?
Sold as-is with no returns or refunds.?
$350? -- most common digital payment platforms are acceptable, as well as cash.? I can meet you within a reasonable distance of Simi Valley!

Ventura Marathon 2025
? Good morning.? The Ventura Marathon is set for this coming Sunday Feb 23rd.? Predicted weather is dry with an overnight low of 45 in Ojai and an afternoon high of 70 in Ventura.? We are currently fully staffed for the race but could always use a couple more folks as ¡°standbys¡± ready to step in for any last minute drop outs.? Additionally, we could really use an additional driver for the event, specifically to deliver T-shirts to all of the Ham participants at all of the Aid Stations, Start lines, etc.? You would not need to have a mobile radio, although that would clearly be a plus.? If you do have a mobile radio, we can provide you with an APRS tracker and you could continue as an additional SAG for the remainder of the race, but that would be entirely optional.? If you are interested and willing to volunteer to do this, please contact me directly at bjauerbach@... or call me at 805-559-9314 ? Thanks in advance. ? 73,? Burt KA6BJA |

VCARC February 14th Meeting Photos
We had 30 members and guests sign into the log book at last night's VCARC monthly club meeting. Paul Strauss WD6EBY presented "Ventura County Repeater System Redesign".
The photos are here: .
Thanks to everyone who participated and especially those who brought donation items and refreshments. Paul appreciated the questions that were asked about the newly-designed repeater system.

Heads up that I have a bad case of vertigo and will not be driving to Poinsettia Pavilion today. The vertigo started yesterday, and thankfully is a lot better today but I still shouldn't be driving. I will try and operate 10M from my house but I know I don't have good coverage there.? Hopefully some of the other regular 10M folks with bettery?'ears' can act as net control.
