It takes all kinds to have a successful amateur radio club

?
?
I found this on Amateur Radio Weekly.....worth the time to read....
?
I especially liked these two:
"AMPTeam outings each month. AMP stands for ARROW Mobile and Portable and they’re kind of like POTA activations and mini Field Days, but people bring all kinds of different stuff to them. The crazy people in our club even meet in the winter months."
?
"Multiple training sessions and presentations. Every month, we have a techical presentation at our meetings."
?
Anything to build interest.....we have 54 members that haven't renewed yet as of close of the Christmas party...
?

Yep,?? you got it!?? (I forgot to hit send yesterday)

Now that they have this email address they may try to scam others in this group.

Please note, anyone else receiving these emails, the attacker will attempt to hurry? you through with vague statements indicating that there's a critical need, it's authorized by the highest level in the company, and it to be sent via UNREFUNDABLE payment methods.?? This includes Zelle, Wire Transfers, Cash App, (sometimes) Paypal, Crypto (usually bitcoin).?? If you send this funding to the scammers (this group, personal lives, primary job) the money is gone and cannot be recovered.

Remember that police will never ask for payment over the phone, presidents of companies have their patterns, if the pattern changes, has urgency or coercion, immediately challenge them, a true CEO will have no problems proving themselves and no transaction will have issues if you take the 10 minutes to verify them.

Hi Dick,

I think we will wind up having our next board meeting before Ron returns and I get moving again so I'm not hurried about it, just trying to get information where I can while I'm thinking about it.?? These are all good points and things that I've not had to do on previous boards and companies before.

Miranda,

I think your question is more appropriate for the treasurer, Michael Tharp rather than Anthony however, I think that even though the funds are already approved you still need board approval to spend them.

I don't think Dick is on the board list any more, but maybe a zoom between you dick and kip would be the quickest way to move the information forward.

Also, if Richard can re-share the cloub-owned Repeater info dock, we can start getting it all in one place.

And I think Mike might have a record of what allocations have been approved, when, and for how much, in addition to the regular yearly allocation.

Hi Anthony,

They told me to talk to the board before I purchase anything, I'd expect that means someone has a list of preapproved expenses somewhere.

I can ask them specifically who has the list and see if I can get it narrowed down at all.

I am soliciting nominations for ARRL North Texas Ham of the year through the end of this November.
Nominees must be an ARRL Member.
Nomination packages should include the members Name and Callsign and at least a half dozen bullet points on why they are being nominated.
ARRL NTX Staff members are not eligible for this award, as several of them will be voting on the Nominations I receive.
Nominations should be emailed to KG5VK@...
with the email Subject line of ARRLNTX 2024 Ham of the Year.

I have already received one package.

EVERY Club should have a nominee !!!

Speaking on Club Nominations for ARRL NTX HOY:
It is not too early to be looking for members under 21 that I can nominate for the Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Award as well as nominees for the many other Non Operating awards the ARRL offers.
Nominations packages and questions or help building a nomination package can be emailed to myself as well as our ARRL Division Director N5AUS@@N5AUS.COM
There are more than a few different Awards for Nominees.
