AWA Bruce Kelly 1929 QSO Party transmitters
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý? ?So this contest caught my attention because you have to use a 1929 transmitter or replica. Well I don¡¯t think the Elecraft K3s or FT-1000 qualify so I checked out the Antique Wireless Association website to learn about 1929 transmitter designs. While I have been licensed for ¡°a while¡± and learned about ¡°valves¡± AKA tubes, they were rapidly being replaced with transistors and IC chips when I was first licensed. So I did a little research on the antique wireless website and found a lot of interesting information on building a suitable transmitter at? ?Also the rules are for the transmitter and not the receiver so the K3s and FT-1000 can be used.? The antique wireless museum is an awesome place that has an amazing collection and displays of wireless technology thru the years. It is a little over a 3 hour drive from Saratoga Springs.?? ?Maybe as a club we could carpool and arrange for a group visit to the museum? 73 Brian Pro |
