This is an opportunity for RACES (and ARES?) to participate in a real-world exercise involving New York State and Federal Interoperable Communications. PLEASE READ the details below and attached on how you can participate.? The annual?Empire Challenge 2024 exercise is scheduled as follows: STARTEX: Saturday, 07 September 0900 Local EST ENDEX: Sunday, 08 September 1200 Noon Local EST This is a CSO: Civil Support Operations interoperability exercise inclusive of NYG SDF, NYNM, Army and Air Force MARS, NYS?DHSES, DHS SHARES and CAP operating under DHS SHARES. SHARES operators will be collecting one (1) CSM County Status Messages from each NY/NJ?county.? Both NY/NJ ARES?, RACES, and ARS Radio Operators are encouraged to submit an ICS-213 CSM: County Status Message?voice message for their respective county?as follows: Monitor: HF 60 Meters CH 5 (USB 5403.5 MHZ) Saturday, 0900-1600 and Sunday 0900-1200 Local EST. Voice Call: "CQ Empire Challenge" and a designated NY/NJ ARS station will take your ICS-213 CSM voice message traffic. We will ask for each line-item entry of the ICS-213 CSM (County Status Message) message template attached below. Don't forget your FIPS code. Review the CSM Reference Guide. -OR- WINLINK: Send your CSM with WINLINK to KB2SNE@... for NY and K2LAX@... for NJ before ENDEX. Please list your amateur call sign, state, and county in the subject line of your WINLINK email message.??
