20 meters

It's business as usual on 20m FT8. I'll take a look at FT4 as well just for giggles in a little while. 73, Kay N3KN

David, would you please refresh my (our?) memory about the file name that's preferred for submiting our logs to you? I believe we can either send an adif or a Cabrillo format, but I kinda remember that last year there was a preferred way to name our files so you'd know who sent what. Thanks!

On another topic -- I dropped off the Facebook page for the 13 Colonies event last evening because I finally got fed up with people snarking & barking at each other. During the event, there's been criticism and complaints from newbies and old goats and assorted know-it-alls on that page about the operating habits and the availability of many of the operations. There has never been one single gripe, however, about K2B. Not one. To me, that says that our group has done a pretty good job of being on the air on the various bands and modes to provide opportunities for the chasers to work us and attain their desired goals. Good job, y'all. 73, Kay N3KN

Hey David - should we have an after action HF net on 40M tomorrow or Saturday? Just an idea. In the olden days, we had an HF net after the VHF contests at 11:00pm where everybody reported their scores. Great time to get together with your competition. Way before 3830. This event sort of reminds me of the camaraderie of a VHF contest. Not sure of a good time. I would be interested in hearing experiences.

Re: After action net?

Sure sounds like a plan. I suspect having the "lessons learned" in writing is helpful. We may not really need a net, it was just a thought to provide an opportunity to get together using our radios instead of the Internet. LOL

Re: Free For All Friday?

You're the best, Carl.
Many thanks.
Privileged to have you with K2B.

Folks, I have added a second row on spreadsheet for 40 meter SSB, 40 meter CW, 20 meter SSB and 20 meter CW, in the unlikely event someone wants to do a free for all on those prime bands/modes.? Really hoping we can even have coverage for single ops on slots across the day and evening ....

If you want to add a row for another band, please feel free to do so.
Please sign in when you decide to take a slot.
Twice yesterday I grabbed what I thought was an empty slot, only to find two K2B's being spotted on dxsummit ...

Thanks again for everyone's efforts.? You make Virginia hams shine.
With a good effort today, from what I see and hear (and my own surpassing last year by 25%), we will hit 25,000 contacts.

David, K2WPM

One station runs FT8 and the other FT4. WIN!

Worked 4 stations on the last RS-44 pass one right after the other.? So not as much productivity as you HF folks, but the K2B satellite 3-some are getting there.??

I don't care, one way or the other.
Throwing it out there for the group.
I recall, there may be some technical reasons why this should not be done in digital modes (Tim, AA4SS, can you chime in here?).

I came across this on the CWOPS reflector. It's neat because the general public can see who's operating and when. Maybe all the K2x efforts should have something like this. Our spreadsheet has more information, which I found useful. (frequency and QRT times)
