K1000 net website up for grabs
Hello group,
It has been almost 30 years since I started the K1000.net website.? ?I am no longer able to keep it updated and/or active so it is time for someone else to take over.
?
A couple of options.
1. The website is hosted at blue host.? And the domain name and hosting is paid for a couple more years.? ?I would suppose it would be possible to transfer the domain and account ownership to a new person, but I have not verified that process. ?
2. The entire code and file system can be sent to someone and they can upload to the ISP of their choice.??
?
The site is almost entirely simple HTML and will run on almost any ISP at a low cost.
?
Any takers? Dennis Spanogle? ?Kurle? (K1000 editor MS-DOS) Kurlwin? (K1000 librarian MS Windows) , K1000.net? (the K1000 archives website.) ,? |
I'd jump on this if I could see. Someone, please take over this wonderful resource for our machines.

Hello all, I am willing to take on the K1000 site, unless others in the group would like to take it over and have plans for updating it etc. I currently host several sites at Dreamhost but I don't mind operating off Bluehost for a while. Unlike my big Yahoo project that's somewhat longer-term with being a full-time college student and delays from disruptions in communication with my developer who wrote scripts for that project, this would seem much more straightforward and wouldn't be subject to those issues. Let me know. Thanks, Max On Fri, Mar 4, 2022 at 12:51 PM Nicole Massey <nyyki@...> wrote: I'd jump on this if I could see. Someone, please take over this wonderful resource for our machines. |
I've been using Dreamhost for about eighteen years now, IIRC, and it's a great hosting provider. I've also moved some things to or from there, and it's been painless and smooth, so that's wonderful too.
