Help lifting something
I'm trying to lift the Robert Glasper tune entitled "FTB". You can hear it at:
Can someone with good ears help me clear up a discrepancy about the B section? I'm pretty sure the basic chords to the B section are: CMAJ7 EbMAJ7 EbMAJ7 FMAJ7 (repeat x 1) Fmin7 GbMAJ7 GbMAJ7 AbMAJ7 A guy in a jazz ensemble in which I am participating, claims it goes: Emin11 EbMAJ7 EbMAJ7 FMAJ7 (repeat x1) C7sus4 DbMAJ7 DbMAJ7 EbMAJ7 BbMAJ7 Dmin11 (based on a chart he found online... he didn't lift it from the recording) What do you guys here? 开云体育The underlying chords become pretty ambiguous because of the melody, but basically: Cmaj7(6) ?Emaj7sus#11 ?Emaj7(sus)#11 Fmaj7 (repeat 1X) Fm7? F#maj7#11? F#maj7#11? G#maj7? Bbmaj7? Dm9 ? ? ? Sent from for Windows 10 ? |
Hi Chris,
When I read "help lifting something" I was afraid you wanted someone to help moving furniture. ?:-) I think your changes sound right. I hear more of a 6/9 or maj9 sound to all the maj7 chords and the Fmi7 sounds like mi11. The last 6 chords could be voiced like below: 1 x 1 3 1 x 2 x 1 1 2 x 2 x 1 1 2 x 4 x 3 3 4 x 6 x 5 5 6 x x 5 5 5 5 x ?or ?x 5 3 5 5 x Hope you can decipher that, Steve |
Hi guys! Thanks for all the help with this.
