Re: best Rock and lots. solo of all time
For some reason, I'm a big Jeff Beck fan, but I have overlooked that period. I'll check it out! yep, the playing and arranging, as well as the recording, panning, all of it. I heard Wind Cries Mary

Re: best Rock and lots. solo of all time

Re: best Rock and lots. solo of all time
I'm lovin' this! So far, no one has guessed it. Maybe it's too obscure ... maybe it's not good after all ... :-) Bobby

Re: OT: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
Yes, it was in the 50's. And yes, I did listen to jazz almost exclusively from age 12, on. Before that I listened to big bands, R&B and country. I consider rock to be vocal music and don't look to it

Re: best Rock gtr. solo of all time

Re: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
Well, at least you didn't pick "Down By the River". Man, these responses are makin' it tough! I almost changed my mind 3 times, but I'm stickin' with my guns. best, Bobby

Re: best Rock gtr. solo of all time

I hate Stairway to Heaven, and only a little less when the lyrics to the Gilligan's Island theme are set to it. Jack Bruce's bass is at least as interesting as Clapton on Crossroads - an old fave

Well, that's too bad. Maybe when you mature, you'll see the value in things outside your sight lines.
