Re: OT: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
Hi Juan, That sucked even with my sound turned off! The topic, just in case you forgot, was "the BEST rock solo of all time", not "the worst dribble on the planet ever". best, Bobby

Re: OT: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
Dude, There's plenty "dark" lurking in my personality... but this still is THE best rock solo ever. 20 minutes and counting - everybody got their fingers ready on the delete key?, Bobby

Hi Angelo, Gotcha! I forgot - Italian men know better than to go out with Italian women! Ain't it something how they all look like their fathers? (i'm in trubble now), Bobby

Re: OT: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
I loved NRBQ, got to hear them in person a few times. Amazing grooves, amazing loose-ness. Heading for utube. If the biddniss types get their way this would eventually no longer be

Re: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
As much as I was not taken with his Autumn Leaves, I really, really liked Clapton's solo on Crossroads, just to name one.

Funny thing, Bobby,... I've only gone out with one Italian girl in my life... They all seem like cousins to me... Ewww, incest...

Re: Finger Style and/or Plectrum

Re: OT: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
Steve Ferguson played some killer solos when he was with NRBQ. Listen to his playing on "Flat Foot Flewzy." If you are serious about guitar and haven't heard Ferguson, you are missing out. I

Interesting story about that song, and the solo. "FSG" was originally too long for commercial airplay, so they sped up the track to make it shorter, and the rest is history. No dis to GG, he's a

Bobby did couple blotter tabs of of purple Owsley fall out of one of your record jackets and into the triple Glen Levit that was helping you get settled in over there? That would explain the off

Re: Picks
Yes. I use Fender Heavy picks (the larger teardrops) and use the rounded back corner. I have done so for 40 years. I prefer the timbre. Tonally I get a much warmer, rounder sound. NOTE: I don't

Re: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
That solo is the most jazzy 50s R&R solo I can think of. Few guys had the chops to play that one. Ron Living and playing outside the box. http://www.myspace.com/ron45becker

..mmmm...so many to choose. I agree with many suggestions but there are two not mentioned so far that I've always liked. One is Randy Bachman's solo on Blue Collar when he was with BTO. The other

Re: OT: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
This tune is more country than rock but it was a very big tune on rock stations for a while Youre Still The One. Corny yes, well crafted solo yep. Favorite does not compute for me. It's like deciding

Re: OT: best Rock gtr. solo of all time
I have heard it said in some Eagles interview that Walsh showed up with that tune all worked out including the solos. Probably not a purely spontaneous act. But one of my faves too. Brian May
