While we're itemizing, I'll add that Pat Martino played a
custom-built Koontz guitar with onboard synthesizer on the
"Starbright" album. This was before the existence of MIDI. I read
an interview with him around that time in which he said that he
did not continue to play the instrument because of its substantial
weight.
