Hello: I'm in need of a Ball joint control (tie rod end). The original Jacobsen part number is 310089. I tried the Jacobsen site ( part of Textron, I guess), and it even shows a picture and price. I can't get the checkout to work.?
Is there another source for this item.

Thanks for any help.

Re: Weed Eater tractor SGT18H46B

It works fairly well, but our snow here is usually quite wet and heavy. When I was still in Newport News, I helped the church at the end of our street clear the walkways as it fit perfectly in them. Now I am on the Eastern Shore of VA and the road here is dirt, oyster shells and gravel, so it isn't as useful here.

One of the interesting things I did see is that tractor uses a Tecumseh V-twin. I have one of those engines that I was given and have no idea what is was originally on other than possibly an MTD built frame.

FWIW, here is a picture of my YT16H with it's snowthower:

On the tube frame tractors, the tags are at the very left front attached to the black heavier framing.? They are attached by two small rivets that sometimes fail, but the two small rivet holes can confirm placement.? In the files we have some, not all of the SNs by year for the Jacs and LGTs,

On my 60's Jacobsens the tags are on the left side sheet metal front close to the bottom.

looking for the year of manufacture for the above tag, also for the same tractor model number for the Eaton transaxle (which I believe is an 11 series).? I just don't see a tag anywhere on the transaxle (but it may be because I have to remove same from frame)

Re: Ford LGT parts tractor - year, transaxle & hydro info

I already know that this tractor frame is a close sided Ford built between 1977 and 1983, I'm trying to nail down the exact year of manufacture.
Another question I have is I know my LGT165 (I believe from 1979) has a filter on its lower (return????) line but the LGT165 parts tractor I'm asking about does not. Its lower line looks factory and the repair manual does not state that some hydrostats did not have one. Anyone ever see another Ford/Jacobson without a hydrostat filter?

Re: 1969 Ford LGT120 PTO

The new clutch pto arrived and I believe it is going to work fine. The one issue is the pulley is about an inch smaller in diameter so I assume we are going to loose some blade speed, but considering the alternative is no blades turning at all. Had to remove the shield and drive to transmission pulley so we could cut the full length square key because the new clutch had a built in key. Here is a few pictures for reference.?

Re: 1969 Ford LGT120 PTO

Wow! Still a bit pricey, but a new [obsolete] clutch!

Re: 1969 Ford LGT120 PTO

Thanks Brian and Charles for the input.? I wanted to share what I ended up doing that I believe is going to work.? The original clutch had a Warner Electric stamp on it so I contacted them.? An application engineer responded to my question asking for pictures, and the original part number.? I found in the files or folders section of this group a parts manual for tractors of this timeframe and sure enough it listed the original part number. I forwarded this info to the engineer at Warner and he responded in a couple days that he has identified the clutch and that it had been obsolete since the mid 80, but he found what he thought would fundamentally replace the clutch and for $150 they could build and ship it to me. Fingers crossed!?

stored it about 10 years ago. Had new seat material put on it and it does look nice but with this clutch being bad he can't exercise it much. I went to the Warner electric web site and have been piecing together what I need to know about this clutch. It is called a reverse mount and a 1 1/8 start size is needed. I can't tell the torque level and I'm not sure of the pulley grove specs. It seems like the Warmer site might give me a direction. But would rather just find a used one that wants a new home. Again thanks for responding.
Allen?

My recommendation would be to look on facebook marketplace or craigslist near you.? Search for ford garden tractor (and jacobsen garden tractor).? You can find a whole tractor, with the PTO for between $100 and $1000 based on condition, accessories, time of year...

There are a few lawn and garden tractor scrap yards, suddenly all the names are escaping me, but a little digging, maybe even in this groups archives should turn them up.

The PTO was for quite some time one of the harder parts to get, but surprisingly I am seeing more of them the past 2 years than the 10 years prior.

Good luck.
