The Bobby Young Project is a collaboration of musicians whose objective is to create music that touches the heart and soul.
Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Bobby was introduced to the piano at the age of 3 by his Grand-Mother who also gave him his first guitar for Christmas when he was 9 years old. He played clarinet in grade school but the arrival of the Beatles changed everything. Bobby put down the clarinet, got serious with his guitar and the rest is history! For over thirty years Bobby has had a love affair with music and the guitar. Strongly influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Sly Stone and Freddie Stone. He has played and recorded with a long list of people including; The Natural Four, Richard “Dimples” Fields, Snooky Flowers, Cool Papa and Zakiya Hooker.
Recently Bobby had the honor to do guitar work on the Cd’s “From Clarksdale To Heaven – Remembering John Lee Hooker”, and “John Lee Hooker, Face to Face”.
