Alumni Club - Next Steps 15
Ok time to get head out of ass people! i am trying to do the amicable route and involving as many people as we can so we can each have 1 task for this event and get it done right away so we can have a great 30th anniversary! We are all busy people! Please try to free yourself up to do 1 task for the 30th anniversary! I really need the help of you guys that still live in the Brookings area to be successful! That is fine if you are too busy to take on 1 task and get it done for the 30th! I can try to run it from here butt if I do, EVERYTHING will be how I want it! Everything! So if you morons do not want me to run everything then please jump on board and help out! I can definitely run the old boy rules that I want against the actives on the alumni game, I can decide on the music (funky butt rap) played at the bar when we are there, I can definitely decide on what time the match is played and the location if no one decides to get off their ass and help out, I can make it all about the guys that played from 1992-1996 which I feel is the pinnacle of the jackrabbit rugby club at its most competitive (if I am wrong, prove it and step up)! Bottom line is that I need help from the ruggers that played after me! We passed the history, trophies, and stolen items on to the next group and it was expected that would keep getting passed on! I need help with the chain of the history. I have spoken with some of the guys that were right before me and started the club without the university! We still have not honored them for what they did for all of us! Time to get the head out of ass people! If I have to run it, I guess I will! I would rather you guys that live back there run this thing so it will be the most successful it can be! We get enough people, we have 1 task each and then it's done! Not that fricking hard! Don't give me this shit that you are too busy! We all are too fricking busy and your not the fucking special! Figure out a damn task that is easy for you to do to make the 30th great and do it! If I have to run this shit it will be done 1 way, MY WAY! No one wants that, including myself! That sucked then and it will suck now! Step the fuck up for the club that you played for! We used to be the fricking Kings of campus, let's get these guys and gals back there! 1st order of business. September 9th - 11th a good date for the reunion? Speak now if you have a conflict! 2nd order of business: Reserve a field (Sexauer and Pioneer park were great). Until someone else steps up its alumni vs actives, old boy rules (uncontested scrums, open substitution for old boys (regular rules for actives) 3rd order of business: Fundraiser for the club or a non profit the club chooses on Friday, September 9th. We could do a golf tourney, beer bust, corn hole or volunteer to work at a non profit that elevates the clubs status. Get sponsors for the event! There are plenty of businesses that will throw out some money or sponsor in some way ( Who lives there? Reed? Jake? Rodney?) You guys kill it, can you help? That is a start. Then we can get alumni kit bags, t shirts and gear for the club to sell, block out a group of hotel rooms, block out a banquet room or a bar on Friday night, do something for recognition of the guys who started the club, have a memorial award or fund for rabbit ruggers we have lost like Chad Lamb (I am sure we have lost others also), and I am sure that there are many other ideas also. Do we have someone that can donate (or we can buy) meat to grill at the match, someone has to still be a farmer? Do we have a banner maker, t-shirt maker back there that we can give business to? There are less than a dozen things to do for the 30th anniversary! We really need help getting it done right away! Grinder Sent with Mixmax

Spreadsheet shared with you: "Jacks Alumni Contact Info:"
shawnmunns10@... shared a spreadsheet shawnmunns10@... has invited you to edit the following spreadsheet: Hey fellas I updated the spreadsheet adding Fiala, Rodney, Lantz and Flemmer to the 30th anniversary committee since they offered to donate or help out for the 30th on September 9-11th, 2022. Thank you fellas! We still need more people on both committee's and signing up for [email protected] and on the spreadsheet. We have 33 people signed up to date. We should be at 100 at least right now. Reach out to people that played and can someone who is on social media send out some info please? I added more people to be moderators/ owners of the alumni group email so we can be more efficient. If you want to be a moderator and you are not now, please let me know. Seeing the fellas that have signed up already, I very much think we need an off campus pitch reserved so we can be silly! Can someone get on the field reservation and field set up please? or get me a number to Brookings and I will call and reserve a pitch. I like Flemmer's idea of setting up an online store front to buy T-shirts, kit bags, etc. Does anyone have any other ideas on the online store front and what we should sell? I was thinking that we should honor the ruggers we lost by doing something for them. I only know of Chad Lamb, is there any others that have passed? Also do something for the founding members of the club. Can you guys before me figure out who those people are? Lastly, I would like to figure out a fundraiser for Friday the 9th. Any ideas? Golf, corn hole, dance at Holly's (Ha), party at the VFW (double Ha), etc. I want to raise money for the club and a non profit in the area that needs help. Throw out some thoughts on other things we can do. I am just throwing out ideas so we get more engaged. We are just over 6 months out! It will get here fast! Will be in SF for the next couple of weeks
Hey All, First off a big thanks to Tate, Heath, Rob, and Ross for stepping up with donations and other stuff. Ross, I also have a contact for sports printing as well. I will be in the Sioux Falls area for the next couple of weeks (2/26,27-3/13) and would like to get in touch with the actives and anyone else who would like to catch up. Might be able to catch a training or two and see if maybe I can give the guys some training tips or tools. I can swing by and reserve a park for us for the alumni weekend. Which one do we want? Do we want to be seen or unseen? As far as fundraisers go, I know Munns suggested golf, which I would be all for. I would like to throw out the idea of a bowling tournament as a possible option. I like the idea of supporting a local charity with the club. Its just good business. The problem we are seeing is that it looks like it is just a bunch of guys from the first wave of the program stepping up. WE NEED INPUT FROM EVERYBODY! Like Grinder said, speak up now or don't bitch later. Cheers Rabbit Ruggers, Stu Hansen 303-319-2533

To Do List: September 10 alumni game 6
Sim, Hey bud we are on the right track for this. So let me correct few things starting with my fricking name which is spelled out in the email! Shawn Munns not Sean Munz and I will not go off on you for being a moron not seeing that. There is not any one person taking care of each item, this is a group effort so if you see something that we haven't covered yet please chime in. 1. Field reservation - Stu and Caden can work together on this but my suggestion is Sexauer park not the soccer fields down south. If you have ever been around the crews from 1991 to 2000, we should not be around families and kids especially at the 30th. A lot of us haven't seen each other in a while so it is my opinion that we should have a park and pitch to ourselves since there will be alcohol at the pitch. We don't need goalposts so it will be fine. Lastly Van Fischback was a bank president in Brookings and he played rugby and supported our club in its infancy. He would even say not to go to where families will more than likely be. 2. Canopy tent- sideline refreshments: Rodney, Fiala and Lantz (how the hell did you get these guys names correct and you screwed mine up so much?) are more than generous with what they offered the club for the 30th. Those 3 do not need to be involved on the coordinating of that stuff, we need to let them know how many people are showing and where to go. Donating what they are donating is more than enough and we do not need to put anything else on their plate. They are very busy people! 3. Reserve Sully's back patio for social. I do agree we can go to the bar at some point but if the club has ruggers under 21, I do not want to put Sully's at risk of allowing underage people in. They can lose their license. My opinion is we hang out at the park for a good portion of the day, grill out and drink there, that way the active club can recruit potential younger ruggers to show up to see what the club is about. From '91 to at least '98 has an impressive group of professionals now that we want to show off to potential active club members and the actives in general. Again, my opinion and please chime in if you feel differently as there is not a bad opinion. We can reserve Sully's on Friday night and Flemmer that an old friend of the club back in the day Garner Hansen owns a bar there and we should spend some time there as that will help the actives in the long run. Definitely do Sully's also. 4. Merchandise: Flemmer has some contacts that can help us set up an online store, which I am sure more of you do to. I would like the storefront to be controlled by the old boys under either SeDuSe U rugby or Rabbit rugby. That way we don't have to worry about the university bitching about it or have any copyright infringements. Plus we had some awesome shirts back in the day that probably are not PC now but I don't give a fuck and everyone should have cool shit. So anyone with online store experience, have a T-shirt printer contact, etc please help out. I would prefer if we use someone locally back there so we support local business. We will use profits to support the club and non profits in the area. I would like a few alumni ( Board of directors) that are still tied to back there to control the bank account and decide how to distribute the funds. Any volunteers for a BOD position? I think we need one if we turn the club or alumni portion into a 501c3. I can write the directors and officers insurance for that to. 5. Fundraising: In my opinion again (please chime in here), fundraising should not be run by a guy that lives in Denver CO and only comes back to South Dakota for first weddings and funerals. I am not a good choice. This should be run locally as it will be easier to raise whatever funds with businesses that know the club and want to support the club. As far as expenses for the 30th anniversary, I am not worried about that at all. We will total up the costs and email the alumni group and I do not see a problem with guys chipping in. Again, we have a lot of very successful and impressive people from the early days with money now

Veteran Jackets 2
Hey alumni, We have some guys who completed the veteran list this year and are in need of jackets. Does anyone know where we can order those from and have a design template that I can use? Thanks, Caden Runia, Current Club President

30th Anniversary question/comment 9
Just throwing out my $0.02. There is a lot of back and forth going on and a lot of people willing to kick in which is great but we might be missing the larger point. If A) we are heading up there for a reunion and a party only, then that’s cool. But, if B) we are trying to help build back the program, proportionally, there are too many emails about food/swag etc. and not enough emails about the current club. If we are looking at option B then: 1) the actives need to start getting involved in the emails so we know what they want/need. We are alum, but it is their club. 2) the women’s team needs to be included for sure. 3) we need to know if the actives want some coaching. Grinder and I are more than happy to come up a day early and I’m guessing we could convince Stu to roll in as well. I am not sure who on this list is still heavily involved in rugby in general and willing to head up early as well, but I have been coaching high school club, high school All State and D2 Men’s Club over the past 12 years and am happy to help out if wanted. 4) there needs to be talk of fundraising to help out the college sides. 5) Additionally, we as old boys, need weekly updates on both the men’s and women’s teams’ matches. Granted, the last email did mention the Wayne State tournament but just a nice wrap up of the weekend that is not tied to a huge chain of other emails. Lastly, it would be helpful for me (because I’m borderline OCD) to see a clear, concise list of what person is doing what. Just one name that we can say the buck stops here. Not in full paragraph form just bullet points so we know who to direct our questions and ideas to. For example - - Fields - ???? - Jerseys - ????? - Beer - ????? - Food - ??????? - Etc - Etc - etc Again, I am not in charge but just throwing in my opinion. Some of the email chains are getting too long and too rambling and I don’t always read all of them so I am guessing I have missed things here and there. Art assets, 14
Here is my contribution, for what it's worth. I have about zero artistic talent, but can cobble things together. Anyone that actually knows how vector graphics work will probably laugh at these. Anyway, I managed to find a decent image of the SDSU "old logo" that converted to vector well, and used it to recreate the patches on the old jerseys. Attached is the rabbit outline in SVG, the patch SVG, and a PNG of what the patch looks like. Might be useful, or might not. Charles

1994 team photo 2
Found this pic. Circa 1994? . It was probably after Scott B., I think, but it also doesn’t have Cliff, Stu, Rook, Mike Wendt, Tate Lantz, Rob Fiala, Ryan Wolf, Troy Peterson, Carl Lewis, etc. So, I’m not really sure what year this was or if those guys were simply not present for the photo. I can’t name everyone, and its embarassing, and I apologize for that. haven’t seen some of these faces in a lot of years. So guys, if I miss your name just know that its due to age and concussions probably. Jerseys - EDIT 10
Sorry, included the same picture twice on the last email. This now has the UK jersey instead of 2 Saracens jerseys Bredehoeft Obviously don’t worry about the colors. And they will not look exactly like any of these, but I need a starting point. Do we want some more: Traditional, Modern, Dumb as Hell, or….? I have attached a couple of photos as well of some other jerseys for teams I played/coached as well. They are a little different style/design than any of the below.
