Alumni Club - Next Steps

Ok time to get head out of ass people!? ?i am trying to do the amicable route and involving as many people as we can so we can each have 1 task for this event and get it done right away so we can have a great 30th anniversary!? ?We are all busy people!? ?Please try to free yourself up to do 1 task for the 30th anniversary!? ?I really need the help of you guys that still live in the Brookings area to be successful!? ?

That is fine if you are too busy to take on 1 task and get it done for the 30th!? ?I can try to run it from here butt if I do, EVERYTHING will be how I want it!? ?Everything!? ?So if you morons do not want me to run everything then please jump on board and help out!? ?I can definitely run the old boy rules that I want against the actives on the alumni game, I can decide on the music (funky butt rap) played at the bar when we are there, I can definitely decide on what time the match is played and the location if no one decides to get off their ass and help out,? I can make it all about the guys that played from 1992-1996 which I feel is the pinnacle of the jackrabbit rugby club at its most competitive (if I am wrong, prove it and step up)!? ?

Bottom line is that I need help from the ruggers that played after me!? We passed the history, trophies, and stolen items on to the next group and it was expected that would keep getting passed on!? I need help with the chain of the history.

I have spoken with some of the guys that were right before me and started the club without the university!? We still have not honored them for what they did for all of us!??

Time to get the head out of ass people!? ?If I have to run it, I guess I will!? I would rather you guys that live back there run this thing so it will be the most successful it can be!? ?We get enough people, we have 1 task each and then it's done!? Not that fricking hard!??

Don't give me this shit that you are too busy!? ?We all are too fricking busy and your not the fucking special!? Figure out a damn task that is easy for you to do to make the 30th great and do it!

If I have to run this shit it will be done 1 way, MY WAY!? No one wants that, including myself!? ?That sucked then and it will suck now!??

Step the fuck up for the club that you played for!? ?We used to be the fricking Kings of campus, let's get these guys and gals back there!

1st order of business.? September 9th - 11th a good date for the reunion?? Speak now if you have a conflict!? ?
2nd order of business:? Reserve a field? (Sexauer and Pioneer park were great).? Until someone else steps up its alumni vs actives, old boy rules (uncontested scrums, open substitution for old boys (regular rules for actives)?
3rd order of business:? Fundraiser for the club or a non profit the club chooses on Friday, September?9th.? We could do a golf tourney, beer bust, corn hole or volunteer to work at a non profit that elevates the clubs status.? Get sponsors for the event!? There are plenty of businesses that will throw out some money or sponsor in some way ( Who lives there?? Reed?? Jake?? Rodney?)? You guys kill it, can you help???

That is a start.? Then we can get alumni kit bags, t shirts and gear for the club to sell, block out a group of hotel rooms, block out a banquet room or a bar on Friday night, do something for recognition of the guys who started the club,? have a memorial award or fund for rabbit ruggers we have lost like Chad Lamb (I am sure we have lost others also), and I am sure that there are many other ideas also. Do we have someone that can donate (or we can buy)? meat to grill at the match, someone has to still be a farmer?? Do we have a banner maker, t-shirt maker back there that we can give business to???

There are less than a dozen things to do for the 30th anniversary!? We really need help getting it done right away!? ?

Here is where we need to start:
1. Keep getting alumni on the list with full contact information.
2. Get the date set so we can reserve an OFF campus field preferably?so the old boys and guests can drink.? Maybe we get a keg and booze sponsor.? I am not sure what you guys can do on campus so please provide input.
3.? If you can help, please get on a committee.? ?The more we have the less work it will be.?

Let's do a Zoom soon to cheers the holidays together. By the way I got to play my first game of rugby league last weekend. Fucking savage sport! Some stuff in in common with American football (like you've got a limited amount of plays, then kick it away), and the tackles get a bit tougher because every play starts with 10-15 m of open space between the runner and defensive line and the tackles are usually 1-on-1.?

Hello all! This email has two primary goals: first to loop in a few more people who have been added to the mailing list, as well as to update you all on my talks with the SDSU Alumni Relations Director. There will be some action required in the next few weeks so I hope you read this email attentively and consider whether you could help out in any way.?

So, first, welcome to our new members. Do please join this group also /g/JackrabbitRugbyAlumni to add some redundancy. And guys, if you can help us out in just one way, it's too take a few minutes to message your old mates from whenever you were at SDSU and get them looped in too. This project needs all of us to reach out to our old teammates so we can achieve inter-generational communication. I especially want to get more ladies on board. The lady Jacks rugby team has been the flagship rugby side on campus many years, keeping the torch burning a few seasons when the men's side was effectively dormant. So please, add your friends to this email contact list:
or just forward me their information and I'll reach out to them. But right now, networking is still a highest priority task.?

Now, the main thing. I've been talking to the SDSU alumni relations Director and we're getting closer to making this thing official. At minimum, here's what we need: 4 officers (President, VP, Secretary, Treasurer) and a calendar with 4 board meetings and 4 events on it. This calendar should be submitted before December 31st. I think we can fudge a bit some of the events, don't actually need to have big shindigs four times a year. But this does mean we should have an all hands Zoom call and talk it out until we coerce four people into a yearly service commitment, and we need to decide a date for that 30th anniversary game. Grinder has suggested the dates of September 10, 17 and 24. So let's pick one and get it on the calendar.?

So it's time for us to get on a Zoom call and hash out some of these officers and schedule stuff so I can get the ball rolling with the university. How about Wednesday, December 15 at 8:30 p.m. Alternative date could be Thursday, December 16. An?alternative time could be to squeeze something in around people's lunch time, let's say 12:15 p.m. (I'm keeping all times in Central Time, although I know we're spread all over. But I'm converting time zones from Istanbul, so if I can do it, you guys can figure out the time difference between Central Time and wherever you've found yourself. I promise to do everything to keep this call to 30 minutes for those who have a busy schedule. Please reach out to me with your preferred day / time. Unless enough people request otherwise, let's plan Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. I'll get the Zoom details out once we confirm.?

I hope you all enjoy the holiday season, despite the fact that we're celebrating the birthday of someone who can't even play rugby.?

Three cheers for Santa,

Now, the main thing. I've been talking to the SDSU alumni relations Director and we're getting closer to making this thing official. Lester,
? ? ? ? ? ? ?Great to hear from you bud! I am really happy that you are going to make it!

?I apologize for not checking my emails, trying to get the year closed out and almost done.? Thank you Scotty B (30th) and Stu (Alumni)? for volunteering to be on committee's, I appreciate it!? ?On the doc that is being created, we should have 1 page for the 30th anniversary committee set up and another for the Alumni group.? ?Just an idea so we can start planning.?

Can someone create the doc that Scotty B is talking about?? Remember some of us were in college pre internet and color screen computer days so it will take some of us hours to create that doc and I am sure there are a bunch of you on this email that can do it in 5 min.? ?Can someone step up and do that please?

Stu is absolutely correct.? ?There are at?least?5 alumni in Denver and we are willing to help but I still think it is best that we have boots on the ground of alumni that still live within an hour or so of Brook town that should be the leaders on all of this.? I am still fully on the side of face to face getting things done faster.??

Those of you that are heading back to the area for Christmas, please see if guys from your home area that played are interested.? Stu is heading back and is up for getting a beer.? You guys should try to get together for a drink or two to revive the commrodarary that we used to have and hopefully have now!? ?Rabbit Rugby!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!? ?Hopefully you get what you want and not what you deserve!

Good job on the?Xcel?spreadsheet!? ?We do need to get contact info for the guys and gals that got put on the list with no contact info.? ?Just a name does us no good.??
Can someone get the Winner boys (Tate, Fiala, Ollie, etc), more of the Canton, Brandon and Yankton (Double D)? guys, and other guys like Ferdig, Toby, Tramp, Zell, Gimpy (Troy Peterson), Jalas, Kevin Paulson,? ?Cliff, Mike Wold, Mike Wendt, Nick Fullmer, Brent Madison,? Matt and Link (2nd rows), Matt (fly half) and his buddy Josh (2nd row/ breakaway), Tim Matthews ( Mr?P 90x), Tim from Buffalo Gap, Todd Heilman, and I am sure that I am missing some of the ruggers from the early days.? Help me try to find them!

Just taking an overview of the?Xcel?spreadsheet, there are big gaps of ruggers and the years played missing?? ?I need help filling?those gaps so we can try to have every year represented!? Does anyone know if there were years that the rugby club didn't play?? ?I need help reaching out to as many people as possible so if you have any connection to an old rabbit rugger please reach out or send me their info so I can.

The more participation we have from the people on this email, the more successful we can make this!? ?

Do please join this group also?/g/JackrabbitRugbyAlumni?to add some redundancy. So please, add your friends to this email contact list:??
or just forward me their information and I'll reach out to them.

Three cheers for Santa,
Hip hip - HO HO!??
