IMPORTANT -- New Doc files for Understanding/Installing Library Files

All:

We have just uploaded a new document file that explains how we want to see you install the JackAl software. I can tell from some of the questions I'm getting that some people do not understand how the IDE works, especially in terms of how the compiler expects things when using libraries. It will help immensely if everyone uses the same directory structure for the IDE and the JackAl source code files. I believe in this strongly enough that, going forward, I will only answer software questions when I am certain that you have installed all of the software using the guideline provided in this new document. Having a common denominator will make software support much easier for Al and me. Fixing any issues is best done quickly so I can get back to other things we want JackAl to do down the road.

The name of the file is:

Good Afternoon,

I would like to thank you for all the work you are doing, I must admit to being one of those tearing their hair out. I did a fresh install of both Arduino IDE and Teensy add on for this project to avoid duplicate libraries etc. which I have encountered before, only to encounter it again.

Thanks again.

Jack, Thanks for your effort. You really work too hard for a fellow your age!
?
(Some of the problems I had, were with the ide remembering too much from my AA project, had to change the sketchbook in preferences to my new rooted directory, before i could stop the compiler from finding libraries in program files /arduino where I had the ide installed before. That fixed my, (most), problems as I did a compile before adding libraries and let the compiler tell me what was missing...)
Anyway thanks again!

Thanks...it's always nice when your efforts are recognized! I'll be posting another document today or tomorrow that deals with using the IDE to compile/upload code. BTW, you should all know that Al is very involved in the documentation, too, and supplied huge chunks of code (especially in the DSP and filters area) for JackAl's software.

I too want to thank you and Al for all of your hard work. I read the new documentation, followed your specific structure requirements, copied the updated include files from your email into the JackAl.h file. I then ran the IDE 1.8.8 compiler with no problems and up-loaded the file to the teensy. Your updated instructions worked like a charm. Now just waiting on part for the build. Again thanks and appreciate your patience.
