Locked Please don't write to this group to reverify -- Here's what to do

I've got a small group of my own (about 30 hikers in the SF Bay Area) in addition to being a member here.? I've been following all this closely for my little group and for a few others I know who are group owners.

Only a fraction of the members in most groups need to re-verify.? Bruce noted 62.? That's about 2% of this group.? Most of those are on custom domains or other "small" domains.? If you your mail is on gmail or Yahoo or some such, you are definitely not on the list.

To reverify, the standard way is to the respond to the e-mail that got sent out.? The last one went out Sunday, January 28.? ?There were three earlier ones.? The second-to-last one was on the 24th.? The subject line was "Action Required: Confirm Your 开云体育 Membership to Continue Receiving Group Emails.”? ?

If you think you may have missed the e-mail (or thought it was a phish), the back-up way to re-verify is get onto the JMT group website.? Just showing up there, logged in, is enough.? If you have a password and have done that before, go do.?? But you don’t need a password to get in.? Go to the main 开云体育 website, /.? If you name shows up at the upper right, you are already logged in.? If you needed to be re-verified, you’ve just done it.? If not, find the “Log In” button in the upper right and click it.? On the login screen, put in your e-mail address – the one where you get your JMT e-mail.? Click the button “E-mail me a link to log in.”? (Clicking “Forgot your password, or don't have one yet?” does the same thing.)? 开云体育 will send an e-mail to that address.? Find it.? In it will be a link to Log In.? Click it, and you are in … and done.? ?98% of the folks here don't need to do this, but logging in does remove all doubt.

But let me repeat.? A posting here does absolutely nothing for the reverification.? Bruce can't do anything directly.? ?And most people haven't been asked.

Thanks for the clarification!

Excellent review of what to do, Jim.? Thanks!

PLEASE STOP SENDING EMAILS TO THE GROUP.
The issue is between the re-verify folks and the groups.io management (NOT the JMT forum management)
We have 5481 members and 43 of them are in this reverify group.

Worst case -- you get removed from groups.io and you just come back in and re-sign-up!

PLEASE no more group responses to this email!
