HAMBLIN Family Photograph
I have an old postcard photograph of Willie HAMBLIN and Glenn HAMBLIN which appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Willie and Glenn appearing to be about 1 to 3 years old at the time. The photograph was sent to Miss Erma FELTON in Belmond, IA. Based on limited research and takes to area genealogists I was able to gather the following information regarding these boys: William “Willie” Lewis HAMBLIN was born 12 Jun 1906 in Mason City, IA to parents William “Will” HAMBLIN (1856-1948) and Julia Alice DAVIS (1864-1951) who were married 13 Mar 1905 in Mason City, IA. This couple had one additional child, a son Glenn D. HAMBLIN (1907-1980). His father was married previously and had one additional child, a son Herman HAMBLIN (1877-1947). Julia was also married previously and had four additional children including Ethel D.; Ardeen; William E.; and Ella A. CURTIS, all born between 1890 and 1897. Willie married Marguerite MANNENS (1905-2001) on 19 Sept 1939 in Mason City, IA. Willie died 20 Apr 1981 in Rochester Township, Olmsted County, MN and is buried in the Elmwood Saint Joseph Cemetery in Mason City, IA. Glenn Davis HAMBLIN was born 20 Nov 1907 in Mason City, IA to the same parents. Glenn married Charlotte Janet STEVENS (1908-1994) on 19 Mar 1930 in Mason City, IA and they had a daughter, Marcia Kay HAMBLIN b. 1948. Glenn was with both the Mason City Fire Dept. and Police Dept. over his working career. Glenn died Mar 1980 in Ventura, IA and is buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake, IA. His daughter Marcia married Maynard L. DYER (b. South Dakota) and they were living in Clear Lake, IA in the 1990’s. I’d like to get this photograph to a family member and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be. Thanks, Shelley
