WACKERBARTH Family Photograph
I have an old studio photograph of Mr. & Mrs. Henry WACKERBARTH of Sanborn, IA. The photograph was taken in the 1890's at the J. D. Long Studio in Sanborn, IA with the couple likely in their 20's at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this couple: Henry WACKERBARTH was b. 25 Mar 1872 in Germany to parents Jacob WACKERBARTH (1843-1925) and Anna Gertrude STEINMETZ (1846-1932) who were married 2 Mar 1869 in Germany. The family came to the USA in Feb 1887 and Henry married Therese or Theresa Pauline Mathilda NEITZKE (1877-1938) on 9 Mar 1899 in Goewey, IA. The couple had four children including Carl Adam; Gertrude Augusta; Fredridck William; and Roy Herbert WACKERBARTH, all born between 1900 and 1918. Henry died 26 May 1938 in Sioux City, IA and is buried in the Roseland Cemetery in Sanborn, IA. At the time of his death his son Fred WACKERBARTH was living in Casa Grande, AZ; his brother Adam WACKERBARTH was living in Chehalis, WA; and his daughter, Gertrude SCHMIDT in Melvin, IA. His wife Theresa was b. 10 Sept 1877 in Germany and came to the USA with her family in 1882 settling in Osceola Co., IA including her parents Carl Friedrick Erdman NEITZKE (1848-1923) and Augusta Johanna KLINGFEIL (1848-1918) who were married in 1876. When she died in 1938 in Melvin, IA her obituary listed the same family members identified above and three brothers John NEITZKE of Paullina, IA; Herman NEITZKE of Ocheyedan, IA; and William NEITZKE of Breda, IA. MOE - ENGER Family Photograph
I have an old photograph of Laura Christine MOE which was taken at the Genelli Studio in Sioux City, IA in 1886. Laura was 7 months old at the time the photograph was taken. Someone has also written Chr. C. MOE on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Laura and her family: Laura Christine MOE was b. 16 Oct 1885 in Sioux City, IA to parents Rev. Christian C. MOE (1849-1910) and Marie Larsen or Larson ENGER (1856-1945) who were married 28 Oct 1884 in Minneapolis, MN. Laura was one of 8 children born to this couple including Laura Christine; Henry Oliver; Martin Carl; Hannah Mabel or Mable; Oscar Joseph; Leonard Nicholas Daniel; Mabel; and Stella C. MOE, all born between 1885 and 1898. Laura died in Dell Rapids, SD on 11 Jan 1945 where she had lived with her parents since 1892. Her obituary listed her surviving family members including her mother, Marie; sisters Mrs. Harry HALVORSON and Stella MOE both of Dell Rapids, SD; and brothers Henry MOE of Altamont, NY; Martin MOE of Minneapolis, MN; and Dr. Leonard MOE of Jacksonville, FL. HARMON Family Photograph
I've recovered an old photograph of Gladys HARMON which was taken at the Wynne Smith Studio in Painesville, OH. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with Gladys appearing to be about 6 years old at the time. Someone has also written "Cousin" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Gladys and her family: Gladys Louise HARMON was b. 23 Oct 1898 in Kirtland, OH to parents Granville H. HARMON (1853-1931) and Mary Clara BUSCHER or BUESCHER (1865-1953) who were married 26 May 1886 in Cuyahoga Co., OH. Gladys was one of four children born to this couple including Reuben F.; Granville Henry Jr.; Hilda H.; and Gladys Louise HARMON all born between 1887 and 1898. Gladys had a son, George G. HARMON (1915-1957). Gladys died 2 Nov 1983 in Sioux City, IA and is buried in the Memorial Park Cemetery in that city. Riel Studio in Chicago, IL when she is 13 months and 8 days of age 3 + 4 - Dorothy ROUNDS of Detroit, MI at Bantles House in Detroit, MI, about 7 years 5 - Dorothy ROUNDS, no studio or location, about 4-5 years Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family: Howard Avery ROUNDS was b. 8 Feb 1878 in Herrick Center, PA to parents Maurice Olin ROUNDS (1851-1934) and Hannah Adelia CAPEWELL or CAPWELL (1855-1942) who were married in 1874 in Pennsylvania. Howard was one of four children born to this couple including Jesse Casswell or Capwell; Howard Avery; Floyd Daniel; and Earl Edwin ROUNDS all born between 1876 and 1890. Howard married Clara Belle WOOD (1877-1960) on 17 Jun 1896 in Woodbury Co., IA. The couple had four children including, Myrtle Eva; Harriet “Hattie” Adelia; Clarence Avery; and Daniel Howard ROUNDS, all born between 1899 and 1915. Howard died 8 Jun 1969 in Mesa, AZ and is buried in the City of Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, AZ. Howard’s wife Clara or Clare Belle WOOD MD was b. 9 Aug 1877 in Owego, NY to parents Charles Sidney WOOD MD (1850-1936) and Elizabeth H. I've recovered a photograph of Ethel Florence BROWNLEE which was taken at the DeLuxe Studio in Sioux City, IA when she was 6 months old and mailed to Miss Hattie BAKER in Primghar, IA on 9 Aug 1911 from Sioux City, IA. The card is addressed "Dear Cousin" and is signed "Will and Hattie". Based on limited research I found that Ethel's Father William "Will" BROWNLEE is a cousin to Miss Hattie BAKER as William's Father James BROWNLEE is a brother to Hattie's Mother Martha BROWNLEE BAKER. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Ethel and her family: Ethel Florence BROWNLEE was b. 19 Dec 1910 in Sioux City, IA to parents William James BROWNLEE (1889-1944) and Hattie Leona WALKER (b. 1889) who were married 18 Dec 1909 in Woodbury Co., IA. Ethel was one of 6 children born to this couple including, Ethel Florence; William Lloyd; Blanche Leona; Violet Bernice or Berniece; Ruby Phyllis; and James Robert BROWNLEE, all born between 1910 and 1926. Ethel married William J. COTTRELL (b. 1909) on 15 Oct 1932 in Vermillion, SD and they had one daughter, Donna Jean COTTRELL (1933-2002). Ethel died 31 Oct 2002 in Sioux City, IA. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Otto and his family: Otto BLANKENBURG was b. 9 Mar 1881 in Iowa and married Alma WIESE (1881-1930) on 21 Sept 1901 in Woodbury Co., IA. They lived in Sioux City and Woodbury, IA for the remainder of their lives and Otto died in 1937 and is buried in the Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA. Anna was one of 11 children born to this couple including, Gubas Anna Maria; Gerda Evelina; John; Knut; Hugo Waldemar; Hilding Verner or Werner; Hildur Vilhelmina; Karin Margareta; Esther Linnea; Wilhelm Alexander; and Gunhild Ulrika RENVALL or REHNWALL all born between 1886 and 1909. Anna married Ernest August LINDBERG (1888-1940) on 13 Aug 1913. Anna died Nov 1949 and is buried in the Logan Park Cemetery in Sioux City, IA along with her husband. Anna’s husband Ernest was b. 22 Sept 1888 in Falun, St. Kopparberg, Dalarna, Sweden to parents Carl or Karl August LINDBERG (1862-1932) and Sara or Sarah Marie or Maria FORS (1865-1952). Ernest was one of 6 children born to this couple including, Carl Mauritz; Ernest August; Jennie Marie; Emma Marie; Carl Gustaf; and Walter Waldemar Eugene LINDBERG, all born between 1886 and 1900. Ernest emigrated to the USA in 1903. Ernest and Anna had a daughter Dorothy Marie LINDBERG (1915-2005) and a son Robert Ernest LINDBERG (1919-1974). Ernest died 27 Nov 1940 in Oakdale, IA. Gerta or Gerda Elvira or Evelina REHNWALL was b. 20 Jul 1892. Elvira married Ernest Ivar Knut STOLBERG (1891-1982 – born in Svabensverk, Sweden and emigrated to Halifax, Canada in 1913) on 21 Jun 1924 in Sioux City, IA. The couple lived in El Paso, TX for 48 years before she died 12 May 1979 in El Paso and is buried at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery there. Her obituary lists survivors as her husband, a sister Mrs. David FORSLING of Iowa; nieces Miss Doris REHNWALL of Iowa; Mrs. R. A. HAKENHOLZ of Kansas; nephews Don FORSLING and Bill FORSLING both of Iowa. VINNEDGE - HUSTON Family Photographs
I've recovered an two old photographs, the first is of Carl Archer VINNEDGE which was taken at the Z. Swearingin Studio in Correctionville, IA. Notes on the photograph indicate that Carl was b. 29 Mar 1895 and that this photograph was taken when he was l year and 1 day old. The second photograph is unidentified though I do believe that there is a resemblance to the photograph of Carl. This photograph is also of an infant and was taken at the same studio. They were recovered together so I'm guessing there is a connection. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this VINNEDGE Family: Carl Archer VINNEDGE was b. 29 Mar 1895 in Correctionville, IA to parents Joseph L. VINNEDGE (1867-1961) and Dora HUSTON (1869-1930) who were married 26 Apr 1889 in Woodbury Co., IA. Carl had one sibling, a brother Kenneth Huston VINNEDGE (1901-1959). Carl married twice, first to Loretta Winnifred DEFOE (b. 1896) who he married in Chicago, IL on 1 Mar 1919, and second to Helen B. WAGGONER or WAGONER (1904-1983) who he married in Cook Co., IL in 1927. Carl died 21 Nov 1957. I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. Franklin was one of 5 children born to this couple including, Margaret Irene; Elbert William; Beatrice Leora; Franklin Jude; and Mariette or Marietta or Marrieta Kittie GARY all born between 1874 and 1888. Franklin married Gladys GARRETSON (1890-1966) on 27 Dec 1910 in Woodbury, IA and they had two children including, Albert or Elbert Arthur GARY (1911-1992) and Virginia Eloise GARY (1915-1983). Franklin died 2 Sept 1918 in France and is buried in the British Cemetery in France. Franklin’s Mother was Sarah Kitty MARRIOTT b. 9 Apr 1850 in New Providence, NJ to parents William MARRIOTT (1826-1866) and Kitty L. DODSLEY (b. 1823) who were married 27 Apr 1848 in Southwell, England. Sarah was one of 8 children born to this couple including, Sarah Kitty; Louisa Caroline; Caroline; Elizabeth “Lizzie”; Mary; Alexander Dodsley; Abraham “Abe” Robert; and Franklin “Frank” MARRIOTT, all born between 1850 and 1864. Sarah died 6 Apr 1913 in West Side, IA and is buried in West Side as well. Beatrice Leora GARY was b. 7 May 1880 to the same parents and she married James Mosher MCLEARN (1879-1956) on 30 Jun 1909 in West Side, IA and they had two children including, Ralph Gary MCLEARN (1910-1980) and Franklin Jude MCLEARN (1913-1970). Beatrice died 27 Jun 1958 and is buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle, CO.
