CRAIL - MCGEE Family Photograph
I've recovered an old photograph of Cora CRAIL which was taken at the J. E. Agnew Studio in Creston, IA. Cora appears to be about one year old at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Cora and her family: Cora May or Mae or Mary CRAIL was b. 10 Nov 1891 in Union Co., IA to parents Thomas “Tom” Brandon CRAIL (1858-1938) and Lavina “Vina” or “Louisiana” MCGEE (1858-1905) who were married 15 Aug 1878 in Lucas Co., IA. Cora had two siblings including Pearl Carol CRAIL and Merle R. CRAIL born between 1879 and 1881. Cora married James Madison CALLENDER (1881-1924) on 17 Aug 1907 in Albion, NE and they had 8 children including Ilma Rose; Edith Leota; Thena; Evelyn or Evalan Ireane or Irene; James Elwin or Elwyn; Lyle Woodrow; Marie Grace; and Merna Jean CALLENDER, all born between 1908 and 1923. Cora died 10 Jun 1971 in Torrance, CA and is buried in the Kimball Cemetery in Kimball, NE. I am hoping to locate someone from Cora’s family so that this wonderful old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

Ruckman m. McGlothen .. in early Lucas County
Greetings, again, Marilyn Found a marriage record for John Ruckman, ag 32 and Sarah Jane McGlothen, ag 29 as married on 17 Jan 1867. That was the only Ruckman (p.14) found or recorded in Lucas County, Iowa, Marriages, 1849-1918. I did note a Mrs, Rickman, " 30 Sep 1914" in the Woodman Funeral Home listings, p. 58. Lucas County Deaths, Woodman Funeral Home, Jan 1906 - Dec 1918. Iowa Gen. Society. 1988. I see your Baker m. Ruckman line is well covered , p. 109 - 112 in Lucas County Heritage 2000, a beautifully bound and presented book from Lucas County Genealogy. I remember purchasing it in 2000 ... my goodness, 20 years ago !! I could find no Raynolds,,, only Reynolds, Perhaps the cursive writing from the source was misleading or mistranscribed ? Enjoy the process. Mary Beth in Wisconsin

Ruckman eAncestors who settled in early Lucas County 3
Hello. My name is Marilyn Moser. My greatgrandparents were Osiah Moser and Mary Ruckman . Yhey settled in nearby Madison County before 1856. Some of Mary's sisters and their husbands settled in Lucas County Judithh Ruckman and her husband John William Raynolds, and Cynthia Ruckman and her husband Robert Ramsey were married in Pike County Ohio before 1850. Raynolds, not Reynolds, is the correct spelling of John's surname. Sometime after 1955, Polly Ruckman and her mother, Polly Ford Pemberton Ruckman, came from Ohio and settled in Lucus County. Young Polly married Jonathan Baker in Lucus County. My greatgreatgrandmother, Polly F P Ruckman died in 1859 and is buried in Newbern Cemetery in Warren County. Their brother John (b 1835) CAcame before just before 1850 with my greatgrandparents, Osiah and Mary Moser, who settled in what became Paterson, Madison County, Iowa. Helived and worked in the area. He/. married in Lucas county. Is anyone else around? Marilyn Moser, Newington CT
