PIERCE or PEARCE - MAXWELL - BELL Family Photograph
I have in my possession and old photograph which is identified as Harold and Helen PIERCE of 332 West Street, Grinnell, IA. The photograph appears to have been taken after 1900 and prior to 1907 with the two being about 4-7 years old at the time the photograph was taken. I believe that this is a photograph of Helen PIERCE and her older brother Herbert PIERCE, not Harold who was younger than Helen. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Harold and Helen: Helen Mae PEARCE was b. 14 Mar 1901 in Grinnell, IA to parents George Grant PEARCE (1866-1946) and Catharine “Kittie” Rhoda MAXWELL (1870-1928). Helen was one of 9 children born to this couple including Herbert Wilson; Virtus William Herbert; Allen M.; Alyce M.; Helen Mae; George Grant; Wendall George; Leonard or Leward or Lenard M.; and Harold Grant PEARCE, all born between 1897 and 1911. Helen married Clarence Virgil BELL (1905-1993) on 8 Sept 1926 in Nashua, IA and they had 5 children including Gerald Eugene; Donald Clarence; Howard; Loren; and Larry Gene BELL, all born between 1928 and 1937. Helen died 29 Aug 1990 in Grinnell or Anamosa, IA and she is buried in the Sheridan Cemetery in Poweshiek Co., IA. Herbert Wilson PEARCE was b. 28 Aug 1897 in Grinnell, IA to the same parents and married Rose Marie SELLE or SELLS (1900-1961) on 20 Feb 1918 in Grinnell, IA. The couple had 6 children including Verona Mae; Lorene or Laurene Alice; Doris Jeanne or Jean; Evelyn; Virginia Mary; and Carolyn Kathrine PEARCE, all born between 1922 and 1939. Herbert died 12 Mar 1958 in Grinnell, IA. I am hoping to return the photograph to family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or know someone who might be. Thanks, Shelley

BUTLER Family Photograph
I have in my possession an old photograph identified as Ellen BUTLER which was taken at the J. E. R. Studio in Charles City, IA. The photograph appears to have been taken in 1870’s or 1880’s with Ellen appearing to be in her 20’s at the time the photograph was taken. I’d like to get this photograph back to her family and would appreciate you contacting me if you believe that you are a member of this BUTLER Family or know someone who might be. Since there are a number of possibilities for a match, we may have to compare the photograph to others from her family. Thanks, Shelley
