1911 Home in Waterloo Iowa
I’ve recovered an old photograph of a house at 306 Reber
Avenue in Waterloo, IA.? The photograph
was taken in 1911, the year the photograph was built.? The owner of the house signed as “L. C. H.”
sent the photograph to a friend in Marathon, IA on 23 Dec 1911 with a note inviting
the friend to the Mason’s Banquet and wishing them a Merry Christmas.? I’d love to see the photograph returned to
the family of “L. C. H.” so I’m hoping to find someone who is able to identify
this individual.? I appreciate any

Josephine MASSLICH and her parents Grace WARREN MASSLICH and Herman B.
MASSLICH. The photograph was taken at the Blackhawk Studio in West Waterloo, IA
and Josephine mailed to her Aunt Jess (Mrs. Nat) COBY in Union City, IN, who I
believe is her mother's sister.? Josephine
thanks her aunt for the Christmas presents, says her mother and father were
with she and George for Christmas and are now in New Castle, IN. She wishes her
a Merry Christmas and mentions that "this is a rotten picture".

UHRIG - MARKERT - HANNA or HANNER Family Photograph
I've "rescued" an old
photograph of G. A. UHRIG of Marysville, MT which appears to have been taken in
the 1890's or early 1900's. G. A. UHRIG appears to be in his 60's at the time
the photograph was taken and he is pictured with an unidentified group including
a woman who might be a wife, about his age, and three others, two men and one
woman, all likely in their 20's to 40's.?
Based on limited research and thanks to an area researcher I have
gathered the following information regarding G. A. UHRIG and his family:

Gustave A. UHRIG was b. 23 Dec
1858 in Buffalo or Bennington, NY to parents Joseph UHRIG (1821-1901) and Eva
Barbara Mary MARKERT (1823-1906) who were married 15 Jul 1852 in Boston,
MA.? Gustave was one of 9 children born to
this couple including, Christiana; Joseph; Albert; Gustave A.; Mary Louisa;
Mary Margaret; Caroline H.; Charles Henry; and John UHRIG, all born between
1853 and 1868. Gustave married twice, first to Mary Jane HANNA or HANNER (b.
1860) on 12 Nov 1878 in Black Hawk, IA and they had three children including, Clara
Amanda; Bertha; and Georgia Ann or Annie UHRIG, all born between 1879 and 1886.? His second marriage was to Marie “Mamie” S.
LABROSSE or NELSON (1872-1939) on 27 Jan 1893 in Helena, MT and they had a son,
Joseph Richard UHRIG (1912-1990).?

Gustave died 28 Nov 1928 in
Portland, OR and he is buried in the River View Cemetery in Portland, OR.? His obituary lists a daughter, Mrs. James
BORMANN of Jackson, MI; a son Joseph UHRIG of Jackson, MI; a daughter Mrs. Caroline
SCHULTZ of Harrisburg, PA; a daughter Mrs. Mary REEB of Walland, Ontario,
Canada; and a daughter Mrs. Clara KAPPER of Port Colbourne, Ontario, Canada.? Gustave’s first daughter Clara’s first
marriage was to Edmund Julius MEIHOFER or MEYHOEFFER or MEYHOEFER who she
married in 1902 in Nicollet Co. MN and they had a daughter, Gertrude Lenore “May”
in 1904.? They divorced in 1908.?

Clara’s daughter May married
sometime before 1926 to Vinton McKinley BECKSTROM in MN and both died in
Corcoran, MN having had three children including, Donald; Corrine Clarice; and Vinton
Guy BECKSTROM all born between 1926 and 1936.Vinton BECKSTROM and his wife Mary
have two daughters, Kristin BECKSTROM RADCLIFF and Lauren BECKSTROM.? Clara UHRIG MEYHOEFER married a second time
to Eduard ROSEMEYER aka Guy Oscar BASYE whose name was changed after his Mother
died and he was adopted out to the BASYE Family.? Gustave’s daughter Georgia married Donald PHILLIPS
in 1904 and they were divorced by 1910 when she married her second husband,
James BORMANN.

I've "rescued" an old
photograph of Edwinna COULTER which was taken at the Veatch Studio in Cedar
Falls, IA sometime in the 1890's with Edwinna appearing to be in her 20's at
the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the
following information regarding Edwinna and her family:

Edwinna Gay BRYSON was b. 3 Aug
1871 in Osage, IA to parents Alexander Miller BRYSON (b. 1842 in Thompsonville,
CT-1899) and Carthagenia Hamlin ALLEN (b. 1844 in Washington Co., AR-1916).? Edwinna was one of 5 children born to this
couple including, Ivanona May; Edwinna Gay; Cassius Allen; Boyd Ray; and Ralph
Jay BRYSON, all born between 1867 and 1882.?
Edwinna married Cary Goodwin COULTER (b. 1869) on 27 Aug 1896 in Iowa
Falls, IA and together they had three children, Joseph Hugh COULTER
(1897-1897); Theodore Bryson COULTER (1899-1979); and Cary Edwin COULTER
(1910-1958).? The family lived in Yuma,
AZ from 1910 through 1914 according to records.?
Edwinna died 24 Jan 1948 in Los Angeles Co., CA and is buried in the Forest

Ethel was one of 5 children born to this couple including, Ethel May; Cora J.; Ruth E.; Hazel; and Merten INGALLS, all born between 1888 and 1898.? Ethel married Harry Miles PHILLIPS (1876-1952) on 30 Mar 1910 in New Hartford, IA and they had 6 children including, Paul; Harriett Alma; Hugh Martin; Winifred; Mary Jean; and Baby Boy PHILLIPS or PHILLIPPS, all born between 1911 and 1921.?
