After testing every tube but the finals on a non-working HT-44 (everything lights, no bias current pulled), I found both 6DQ5's tested bad.? One had an HK short and the other a short elsewhere if I recall correctly.

It looks like a prior owner replaced R77 with two resistors in series totaling 2.15 K¦¸ rather than the spec'd 1.8 K¦¸.? Also, C94 appears to be cracked.

So I'm wondering why that resistor mod might have been made?? I'm guessing he may not have had a 1.8K¦¸ and this is as close as he could get?? The resistors are not burned or cracked.
