I remember looking at that 1821A on eevblog and it took me a while to realize that the push-button and lamp were both in the same component.? I thought that was rather nice but then if you can't repair/replace it, then maybe not.

I pulled the front panel and replaced the neon with the new one and it works great now.? So happy over a little lamp working but I take my fun wherever I can get it.
