Manual for HP 466A amplifier
If anyone has a copy of the manual for this old amplifier I'd appreciate a copy.? Even just the schematic diagram would be appreciated.? I have had this amplifier for years and use it once in a while.? ?There's a DC offset on the output now but appears to have low distortion.? ? Ran on mercury batteries. Now the battery contacts are all corroded so I just connect a power supply to the test sockets.? ?Has germanium transistors and I think it is '60's vintage.? 10 Hz to 1 MHz is its frequency range and has 20 dB and 40 dB selectable gains.
I did check the files.??
Thanks!

I have a paper copy of the HP-466A manual, serial prefix 226, and could copy the schematic for you.? Jeremy? N6WFO? On Fri, Feb 28, 2025 at 8:12?PM WB2UAQ via <pschuch=[email protected]> wrote:

Thanks Jeremy!? ?A scanned copy of the schematic diagram would be much appreciated.? ?
My email is wb2uaq@.... ? ?
Maybe I can scan in something for you from my collection of manuals if you are looking for something that isn't readily available.? ? I don't have a listing of what I have.? ? ?My largest set of manuals covers the HP141T and the spectrum analyzer plugins.? ?Might be pretty complete as it came out of HP's repair center in Rockaway, NJ that was shut down when the service centers were consolidated out to CA.
Best regards,

Scan sent to wb2uaq.? Incidentally, there should not be DC on the output—100 uf capacitor C18, in series with 39 Ohm resistor R35, connects the emitter of emitter follower Q7 to the output BNC socket. C18 should block the DC seen at Q7 emitter (-9.6VDC); perhaps C18 is shorted. I've found my 466A to operate just fine on a pair of 9V transistor batteries. I wire battery tabs to the original mercury battery terminals and hold the 9V batteries in place with double-sticky foam tape. The 466A is thus totally isolated from anything other than the source and the load. Paper original will be sent to Dave McGuire on Monday. Good point. I’d rather patronize Artek and save us both time and money.? Jeremy? N6WFO On Sun, Mar 2, 2025 at 8:37?AM Dave McGuire via <mcguire=[email protected]> wrote: On 3/1/25 23:06, Jeremy Nichols via wrote: |
