LODA and TG 85644A

hello group,
here I have just transformed my HP 8593e by equipping it with the LODA and its control card for me to be able to use my HP 85644A tracking with my analyzer is it necessary or is there a setting to be made for the LODA voltage because I have accidents on my frequency response curve, should the voltages written on the LODA (bias and LO SENSE) be adjusted??.
Thank you very much ONN4LJ Joel

A few years ago I retrofitted the tracking generator option to my 8595E analyzer. I¡¯m pretty sure the LO distribution amplifier (LODA) had a bias value written on the top label. There is a trim pot on the control board for setting the bias. All the information should be in the 8590 series service manual. You just have to fish through it and pick out your applicable unit.

Hello Jeremy,
thank you for your answer I will see on this side there and looked in the manual what is said about the settings to be made thank you very much joel ON4lj

I will have to look through the manual to refresh my memory. I do know it¡¯s wasn¡¯t particularly difficult to set up. The hardest part was installing the hardware.

hello Jeremy, well ok for your answer I will still look on my side if I find the manual for the installation of option 009-010 for the hp 8593e and yes well ok for the installation of the mechanics which is quite strenuous but you have to take the time.
thank you again Joel ON4LJ

For adjusting the LODA in you 8593, refer to the service guide for 8590 series analyzers, assembly level repair manual. Pages 139-141 for options 09/10.

One thing I should also mention is the IF out connection on the rear of your 8593 should be terminated to 50 ohms when not being used. I noted on mine I would get level errors if it was left floating.

Hello Jeremy,
a big thank you for the info I will apply this in my 8593e and ok also for the release of the LO Jo?l ON4LJ
