HPIB disk drive as a substitute for SRAM cards
I've made some progress on this project by having the dual disk drive talk to the HP8924C.
?
I would like to transfer the calibration files on the Panasonic SRAM card into the disk drive. I'd like to compare it to what I have, then modify the program
so that it homes on the disk drive instead of the SRAM card. I was able to borrow the SRAM card but have to return it soon.
?
I have some similar files and have attempted to swap out the mass memory term "CARD"? for "DISK" but various errors have popped up when I tried to run it.
Downloading various iBasic programming PDFs have helped a little but it's slow going. Anyone know of an existing library of programs related to RF test instruments?

If you join the (rather pooly named) /g/HP8924-Family-Spectrum-Analyzers group you fill find the RF tools programs in the files section. Lots of other stuff for the 892x tests sets.
You should be able to read the PCMCIA card from the 8924C directly in a PC with a PCMCIA slot (older laptop) ?

I found that "DISK" actually needs to be? " :,700,0"? for my HPIB disk drive's address. I learned how to copy a? file from the HPIB disk to
any SRAM and now have to see how to delete files on the SRAM card. That would allow me to update any incorrect or out of
date files stored in either type of mass media.

Hi Jim,
You are probably missing a driver. Finding one may not be easy. Also did you format the card as DOS or LIF? See
and
Alternatively there was a program called Memory Card Explorer (MCE) that reads just about any card. Unfortunatly the company that wrote it (ELAN) have gone out of business. I think there is a copy of it in the 8924 group file section. I see you are already on that group.
I do have some SRAM cards. If you are interested in one contact me off-list.

Hi
?
I'm not sure which driver you may be referring to so you might have to explain further.
?
I did not format the card. It was borrowed and came with the attenuator cal files on it. It will be mailed back soon.
?
The HP museum is great! It was of help with my earlier efforts to get the dual disk drive talking to the 8924C.
?
I did download MCE for my old Dell LapTop running on XP.? I was getting nowhere with MCE plus I didn't want to risk screwing up the card I borrowed.
It was very generous of those folks to trust me with it.
?
I'll send you an email.
?
Thanks!
