HP 4260A Parts needed

r_j_shehan

Hello group (Hello Tom Gootee!!)

This is my almost first post...

I own a nice 4260A universal bridge, it has an issue with R3, the
big rotating resistor behind the counter assembly. STUPID small wire
joining the resistor assembly to the post.

Anyone have one of the parts? I need this unit to operate so I can
continue making inductors - my hobby / business.

I have had a look at Sphere, but they dont list any 4260 parts. Any
help would be much appreciated.

Rod, from the outback in Western Australia.

Rod,

Welcome to the hp_agilent_equipment group!

If you happen to know anyone who lives near Norfolk, Virginia, the following gov't auction lot might be of particular interest:

Bidding opens 5/18 and closes 5/20 at 5 PM.

It looks like that auction lot contains some very nice equipment, in unusually-good condition.

The HP 4260A Bridge has a condition code of B4, which should mean that it's working fine!

For anyone who's close to Norfolk who might be interested in obtaining some of the other equipment in that lot, who could also ship the 4260A to Rod, here's what else is included:

Qty (2) AVO E2540 Resistance-Voltage bridges, in A1 condition(!)

ESI 250DE Impedance Bridge (cond F7; i.e. probably working)

ESI SR1030 100K Resistance Standard, in A1 condition(!)

ESI Capacitance Decade, in A4 condition (0.100 to 1.111 uF in 0.001 uF steps, +/- 1%, 500vdc)

Guildline 9154A Voltage Standard, in A1 condition(!), 1 volt w/uncertainty of 2 microvolts over 1 year!

Shalltronix Decade Resistor, in A4 condition, 0 to 1.111 kOhms in 1 Ohm steps

Clarostat 240C Decade Power Resistor (F7 cond), 0 to 999.999 kOhms in 1 Ohm steps, up to 1000vdc max, 5A max.

Alternatively, anyone who lives near Norfolk who could just at least go to pick up and ship the equipment could help, too. We could work out any deal you like, if you don't want to do the bidding yourself, whether you just want part of all of the other equipment, or cash reimbursement + expenses etc, or whatever other ideas you might have. Let me know, as soon as possible, since the bidding starts very soon.

And, of course, anyone who knows where someone could obtain an HP 4260A parts unit could be of great help, too.

I have been in close contact with our new member, Rod Shehan, over the past week or two, via email. And I believe, strongly, that he is deserving of our help, and that he will also become a very valuable member of the group.

Sincerely,

Tom Gootee (tomg AT fullnet.com)
