HP 3469B multimeter

Hi all,

I've got an HP 3469B multimeter that's not behaving as it should - the
display is behaving sensibly, but the values bear little relationship
to the electrical signals applied. Nothing looks brown/smoked inside,
and it has the largest multi-gang rotary switch which could have some
dirty contacts.

Anybody know anything about the insides of these? Do
calibration/service manuals exist? I'll start tracing the circuit and
checking levels but I'd prefer some intelligence before going in blind.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi, Yes there is a manual. My copy is bearely readable. Came from
HP microfiche... Check the solid tantalum capacitors on the second
board from the top, after removing the top cover, with power off.
The same capacitor was shorted on both my 3469A with weird results.
There are no labels on my PWB.
